Pickens is more reliable than Lamb

You’re comparing CD to a hall of fame 3x SB winning receiver, they aint on the same plane of existence.

That being said - CD has had very ugly drops like this throughout his career. Very nonchalant attitude about it too. I would be looking for his replacement sooner rather than later.
 
Didn’t his bonehead penalty set up that fumble from Sanders?

Look, Pickens has talent and we should look to target him a bit more but part of being “reliable” is staying away from costly penalties that hurt the team.

Bro, that was all Sanders.

Any one of Blue, Williams, Turpin, Tolbert, or my 10 year old Chihuahua/West Highland Terrier cross could make that catch.

Dude is cooked and needs to be cut, and that’s nothing to do with Pickens or one silly penalty.

My friend and I collectively agree, that historically Lamb is not the guy you want to go to in big moments. He does not deliver anywhere near consistently as other big name WR’s in the league.

In what could have been the first interception of the year, a perfectly placed ball from Dak went through the hands of Mr #1 just to bounce off his facemask and pop into the air.

Lamb then proceeds to drop another beautifully placed ball in one of the biggest turning points of the game with just over 2 minutes remaining.

Although arguable it was a difficult catch, to be paid the money he gets paid, that 4th down play probably should have been caught.

But what I see from Pickens is aggression over flashy. He came up in a big moment tonight. Even when he couldn’t manage that one handed grab off the PI, he still fought until the very end.

My point being, is Ceedee more often than not these days is causing errors that are not acceptable for a player in his position, on a consistent basis.

Throughout the career of George Pickens, he seems to be more consistent and more reliable, and arguably more comfortable in bigger moments than the time Lamb has spent with us. What do you guys think?

Baloney. Reliable in no way. Pickens jogged around and gave a half hearted effort much of last night. He also gave a piss poor effort on many blocks. They were speculating on the Fan that if he thinks the ball isn't coming to him, he just goes through the motions.

And Tolbert was even worse. He's just useless out there. They really need Ferguson to step up if the offense is going to be good.

Really, that’s interesting. If that’s true that’s a problem. Lamb can’t be trusted in big moments. He’s proven that over his career and if Pickens goes through the motions and doesn’t play the down out to completion then we’re kind of in trouble.

Going back to Lamb for a minute. I think last night was the backbreaker for me as far as thinking he’s an elite player. He thinks he’s elite and he’s paid like he’s elite but he isn’t. I was racking my brain trying to think of a big time moment against a playoff team or in the playoffs that he came through. I can’t off the top of my head. Playoff games against the niners, nothing. Playoff game against the Packers, yep, a nice pouting session. Also I love how in big games he plays poorly then in the sidelines he points his chest and says “it’s on me”. Yes we know this. Play better. Catch the ball when it hits your hands. Repeated acknowledgment of playing bad in the moment has gotten old.

Lamb has what I call “2nd contract Cowboys Disorder” or “SCCD” for short. He plays great against crappy teams like the Browns, Giants, Panthers and pre Danial’s Commanders; but going against the big boys of the league he falls short and literally drops the ball. So his play against the bottom feeders gets him a 2nd contract, usually a market setting contract or close to it and he doesn’t elevate his game. And we continue to lose to the big boys of the NFL. Don’t worry Lamb will bounce back next week against the Giants and will play good against the Bears and then have a bad game against the Packers. Get ready for his smile after drops and him pointing to his chest telling everyone it’s on him. No different than when Amari had shrinkage in big games and road games.

Okay rant over, I actually feel a little better. I’m looking forward to the day we can move on from Lamb. I think we can beat the Giants without him and lose to the Eagles, Niners, Chiefs and Packers with him. Same movie different theater. Poster child for Second Contract Cowboy Disorder.
