Pickens is worth the gamble!

Even if you try and line up all the highly improbable what IF question marks being answered in one season, this team would still fall miserably short of a trophy.

So if that's the risk to reward grading scale you're implying I think it's a losing proposition.

Now for the drama and entertainment value it's a home run.

But it sure doesn't seem to fit this so called culture change thing they've been preaching though.

Just saying.
Nor does it fit the re-invention of Marty ball we've been hearing about with a renewed emphasis on the running game.

The worst case scenario is not getting one dreadful season. It's him having a great season, resigning him to big money, and then having many dreadful seasons. That's a classic Jerry move.
That does seem to be the outcome now and then. But half of that outcome is Jerry's fault. You gave up a 3rd and a 5th, don't now stop halfway. Give him the extension now, not after the season. It's easier to spread out a 4 year 100M contract over 5 years than it is over 4 years. On top of that, it also takes care of the problem of him wanting much more if he does have a great season. Lets see what Jerry chooses.

i would wait on this guy. I wanna see him produce and behave and not be a headache

I agree and this isn't to you this is to everyone else who doesn't seem to be liking this trade which is in my opinion the best that's why I love scenario for the Dallas Cowboys out of all the other free agents or trades that could have been made this is the very best he's not just a number two we're bringing over a former number one and making him one B you add him with the juice we can get out of the backfield from blue among other things this is the only thing that should be taken from this is positive this is something nobody expected and this is better than any of the other options that Jerry could have brought over i'm Marty Cooper and Keenan Allen are on their way out they're becoming washed they're average they're not even barely better than Tolbert so people should be very happy about this and this statement is not to you this is to everyone else...

Here I got one last sentence for everyone, and I'm taking myself out of the loop for this anybody who doesn't like this it's too bad it already happened prescott is here, too bad it already happened.

You all that don't like any of this have one choice just don't follow the Cowboys anymore you can complain and hate it all you want but it's happening,
there's nothing you could do to control it, it's happened ,
it's already happened ...
it's too late,
IF you don't like the Dallas Cowboys, it's already happened,
you have no control of it the only thing you can control is how much you complain and vent and need therapy in here..
some of us are not going to come reply and get on your side of all the negativity be happy or not it doesn't matter it's happened it can't be reversed it's going forward life moves on and life moves forward. Move with it or fall behind or get ran over lol
Have to take chances in hopes of improving your roster, talent level. His upside is immense and the downside is just a late day 2 pick

That sounds logical. But it comes with its own problems. His market value now is 25M. If you give him a 4 year extension now, that's 105 million over 5 years. If you wait, and he plays great, he's going to want 35M. And all you have is 4 years to spread that out. That's a big difference in average cap hits. Extending him now would also make it a less painful out if things go south.

i know. excellent explanation by you.
tough choice

you need defense to win championships. KC made it to the superbowl with an offense that didn't score more than 30 points once in the season. two years ago when they beat SF, it was their defense holding SF until their offense got in gear. Philly, despite everything, won because of defense and two years ago when their defense fell apart, their season fell apart. offense sells tickets. defense wins championships
Got to score points in today’s game as the rules are heavily favored for the offense. Defense today is about forcing teams to kick fg’s not scoring td’s. You need a defense that can get to the qb and create turnovers, hold up against the run..

My favorite text today from which there were many this one from a NYG fan — dude that might be your best trade since Herschel Walker.

One thing about the comp pick is it's dependent on the next contract he signs and if he does in Dallas what he did in Pittsburgh I don't think teams will be lining up to give him a big contract.

There's a very real scenario where you gave up your 3rd round pick for one season of a malcontent.
Even if her gets 1,000 and 7 TD’s like he averages he will get paid by someone. And if he gets that we are successful both ways. Buffalo gave up a 3rd for Coop midseason.
