If he said I want to be the highest paid WR in the league, I wouldn't hold a grudge. I have more respect for guys playing in the NFL than any other league, as all it takes is one turn of the ankle....or one stop by a lady cop following you on the highway from a Golf Tournament in Laverne and Shirley country

Seriously, I just don't understand the negative comments this guy gets regarding his contract.

The way he handled last year being in his final rookie contract year after the trade and the way he's handled the franchise tag this whole off-season should be a blueprint for every franchise tagged player.

You can question where he ranks among the top receivers in the league but from the financial and personal side, the guy has just done his job, stayed out of the drama, bonded with other players and seems to care about this team.

Sure, that may change with the Cowboy offer next year, but the "wait until ..." argument has been repeated since he got here.

If (not when, but IF) that happens, my impression and view of him would change.

Until such time, I'm glad he's on the Cowboys.

From everything I've read, being a great teammate has never been his problem. He's had some problems showing up to meetings on time and lets his attitude get away from him some at times on the field, resulting in "stupid" behavior, such as penalties caused by emotion. But he's not going to be a bad locker room guy.

I don't think it will take an All-Pro year. Rising cap means rising salaries.

That describes many players though.

Even Lamb was benched last year due to being late for curfew.

If that does happen, assuming its after two years of great production and being a good teammate, I dont even know how much I could fault him.

At some point youve got to be given credit for proving your self. Now, if hes sprawling out across the sideline during a "hold in," all bets are off.

True. Just can't do it when your team gets rid of you for behavioral concerns because then everyone is watching for it.

I do think it is important for players to control themselves on the field, but it's an emotional game, and some players feed off emotion. I'm just not a fan of causing your team 15 yards because you couldn't get your emotions in check.

You’re speaking from a bias cowboys fan perspective and it sounds silly. George Pickens made the all-pro team last year, if he makes it again this year that is back to back all-pro seasons. DK has 0 all pro seasons and you talking about it’s fair to be around his salary? Absolutely foolishness.
