You can have one of either re-sign Pickens or trade him for a FRP somewhere between 21-32. Which are you going to take and why?

For me I take the cap space and the FRP and look hard at a receiver somewhere in the first two rounds. One of the FRPs can be traded back for additional picks.

It also frees up cap space to go and get legitimate players in free agency to help fix this defense.

Dallas doesn’t have a pick in rounds 2 and 3. Pitt has the Cowboys 3rd round pick and a 5th the next draft from Pickens. There isn’t a player that would be available in the 20’s that compare to his talent. This isn’t a very good draft to acquire picks in the mid-rounds. If Dallas could get a first and a second, jump on it but they won’t with him needing a new contract.

Sign the guy and spread out the salary cap over three years. The cap is going up substantially and more money can be freed up. There is no logical reason to weaken the offense and turn around and use a high pick on another WR.

The defense can still be addressed through an aggressive free agency aside from whatever they do with George. Now, I am not sure those two clowns have the capability of doing so.

I just dont see anybody giving up a high pick for Pickens. 1) he has to be paid. 2) how will he be once he gets the bag? Big risk/ big reward. Screw it up and it gets you fired other places.

I would trade Pick for a 1 in a heartbeat.

I am so tired of watching a defense that cant get it done and bail out the offense ever.

You would likely have to use a 1 in a WR but if it means we fan use that 30 mil to spread across a FA Edge, LBr, CB etc?

Yea...sign me up.

Can I have the first round pick next year and trade him to the Browns?

You take Pickens because he is awesome and he can be tagged.

Need to compare
Pickens + 30M+/yr
vs
1st rd pick and rookie deal..maybe 2nd rd pick too

There are some very good WRs in this draft. If it is a top 20 pick, I would do it. Jerry is looked at as an easy mark by agents and therefore Pickens will want 35+ mil to stay in Dallas.

That’s a reasonable comp. Both have cancer tendencies as well. Pickens may in fact be a little less cancerous than Brown.
Look at Tenn since they traded brown can’t find a number 1 despite throwing all possible resources. Keep Pickens he loves it here….this isn’t hard guys.
