Pickens: "there's no he gets the ball, I get the ball, we work off each other"

Could be why I'd go with the franchise tag for a couple of years if he plays at a high level. Keeps him on his toes and allows us to keep him through his prime years. Dez started falling off after Year 5. Pickens is going into Year 4.

From my understanding, the tag next year may be around $28 million, which could be less than he'll be seeking if he has a strong year. Of course, I don't know how Pickens feels about the tag. He could balk and hold out.
He more than likely would hold out and you almost can’t blame him. The system penalizes good players.

It would be a major distraction and I wouldn’t discount that as part of Jerry strategy to keep ‘em talking.

This is why IMO the glass is half full......some players maturation process is tougher than others. Patience cn reward you.
BTW,,,how many are aware he and one other player spent 2023 T'giving with Tomlin and his family. Not saying it means anything within the trade but there good be a lots good in this kid that just needs some guidance.

Cowboys WR George Pickens not focused on contract year, excited to play alongside CeeDee Lamb

Published: May 08, 2025 at 04:53 PM

"Oh, it excites me a lot," Pickens said of playing alongside Lamb. "In the game of football, we can work off each other. There's no, 'Oh, he gets the ball, I get the ball' -- we're working off each other. That's why I always come back to, you know, building a winning culture and that's kind of what we've been talking about in Dallas."

Oh how i like those people.

New guy, comes in and already explains everybody how thing will work.

Same as those guests who come to your house and 5 minutes later explain to you what your are doing wrong and how you should change everything inside.

Lack of education and behaviour. So great to have to endure such idiots.

I had us going somewhere between 7-10 and 10-7. I think with this addition, I lean toward the 10-7. Last year was a bit of an anomaly because of all the injuries. However, I'm not sure we can get back to the three straight 12-5s that we had under McCarthy because a) I don't know what kind of head coach No-Schott will be and b) the East is better overall than it was when we were compiling those records.

It may have changed since this trade. Or may change on their next update.
As of May 4th they had us at 7.5 wins for the over / under.

Anyone that already took the over, their odds just went up.
I had checked before posting the trade.

I think people are being unfair to Pickens. Yes, he's been a diva, been immature, been a hot head. But the guy is not a criminal, he loves football, and he wants to win.

Dez grew up over time; and if you want to talk sideline histrionics, there's a ton of similarity between what Bryant did and what Pickens did. Let's give him a chance in a brand new environment.
He’s in a contract year. He’s going to be the one saying “give me a chance”. He’s not going to resent Lamb getting balls. Lamb is a proven star among NFL receivers. But if Dak is throwing too many, or even any, completions to Blue and Ferguson he’s going to see his shot at a big payday fading away. He’s not going to be pleased.

If he’s as great as Cowboys fans say he is he’s going to at least want the opportunity to show it. At best he’ll only be reading a book on the sideline to show his disdain for his career being flushed down toilet.
