But that's why I don't understand why people are even talking about it. The last thing we need is a guy who's never even been an HC at any level, much less some washed up TE.

There’s a lot of lame brains here, just look at some of the head coaching candidates they’ve come up with. Tony Romo, Troy Aikman, Kellen Moore and Jon Kitna have come up as possible Cowboys head coaches, as if former Cowboys QBs have had success coaching this team. lol

From Witten’s desire to be a coach. A couple of years ago there was talk about him being Tennessee’s head coach. He would be a ridiculous hire for the Cowboys as HC, he’s never coached a day in his life. The only way we’re ever going to get out of this 20+ year rut we’ve been in is to bring in a proven HC with some skins on the wall.

wait...so you think it's better to have actual experience in a job, then to have none, before being hired at the highest level possible...? Crazy talk!

Witten has indicated he may want to pursue coaching but he needs to start at the bottom and work his way up and not start at the top.
