Great pics. Someone should email them to Merriman-Webster, so that they can update their online definition of enormous to read:

enormous

enor·mous

1 aarchaic : abnormal, inordinate b: exceedingly wicked : shocking <an enormous sin>
2: marked by extraordinarily great size, number, or degree; especially : exceeding usual bounds or accepted notions; the new Texas Stadium

And no, all you silent Dallas Cowboys hating readers out there, I'm not being the least bit pretentious. ;) :)

Great pics.

Funny though, I could have sworn I read a report that they were going to put the outdoor bigscreen on one end of the stadium...guess not.

I thought the same thing.

Great Pics OP. Thanks

Surely that's not the actual big screen. Seems kind of early to put that up:confused:

That caption was based on an artist's rendering I saw early on where they had a big screen on each side of the exterior of the stadium, presumably for tailgating. They may have changed their plans, but those panels look the same as the rendering I saw that had what looked like a football game being projected on it.

No matter. I wonder what those panels are for (there's one framed out on the other side, somewhat visible in that pic) if not to be a projector screen of some sort?

Thanks for stealing my thunder. ;)

I am going to be in Dallas next week and had planned to take some pics......well not now. I couldn't do a better job than that.

lol sorry. Please be sure and go see it. It's amazing. And please take a camera. I'm sure you'll see something I missed or find a better vantage point than I could, not to mention there should be some more progress by then. I pretty much had the thing surrounded, though, trying to find a good shot. If I could have gotten closer to it from the East (toward the Ballpark at Arlington), there didn't seem to be as much debris in the way.

At the Northwest corner of the site (Southeast corner of the intersection of Collins and Randol Mill), there's a Dallas Cowboys Preview Center where they invite all the prospective Season Ticket holders to come in and see the stadium and pick their seats and stuff. The guard outside informed me you have to have an appointment to get inside the building, though. I completely missed that building as I drove up to the stadium. If the guard hadn't been staring me down the whole time, I probably would have gotten a pic of it, too.

Figure out how to get in that building and get some scans of their promo packs and you'll trump me bigtime...

Love the last pic with the water tower and the Cowboys and Rangers logos!

Sometimes I miss being away from home... :(

I definately plan on going by there but all I'll have with me is a cheap digital camera or a cell phone camera. :laugh2:

Thanks. I like that one, too, with the arch of the stadium in front of the Star on the water tower.

It's tough for me, too, to be on the wrong side of the Red River.

I almost wish they could leave the entire roof off and keep it like that.

No, I'm fortunate to be from Texas.

NFL Films did a story about the Maroons and their stolen 1925 NFL Championship (stupid exhibition game against Notre Dame). I just thought they got screwed out of something pretty special and it stuck with me. Also, Pottsville, TX is the next town over from where my Grandparents are buried and where my Grandmother grew up (Indian Gap). Plus, the Maroons QB from the '25 team has the same last name as me.

I thought the name sounded cool and have used it in Fantasy Football (to try and avenge their stolen Championship) and on message boards ever since.
