There are different styles of NFL quarterbacks which is why comparisons are futile. It is also true that you cannot expect certain aspects of a QB's skillset to magically evolve into something else of they don't have the physical attributes required.

Dak Prescott is not a gunslinger. He is not a gifted, accurate passer with the ability to quickly find the open man and hit him perfectly between the numbers while double teamed. That's just not Dak and it never will be.

Dak was supposed to be a smart leader that was aware of his limitations and didn't allow them to become a factor in a game. He was supposed to be careful, make the smart choices, and take no risks. He's supposed to be efficient, not flashy.

Dak is not an elite talent. If he was then he would have been a top 5 overall pick, that's where you find those guys, the ones that look like they were built to be NFL QB's. That's not to say his type can't have an elite career, many have. However, they didn't do it by behaving as though they were one of those top 5 picks.

The idea that Dak had to be more "aggressive" is absolutely insane. I put that idea right up there with making Marion Barber a starter in the NFL. That's not what he was capable of doing, he weas misused and Dak is being misused.

Dak Prescott should never have to throw mare than 28 passes in a game unless they are down by three scores in the 2nd half. Considering the defense, that should be truly rare and most likely, it will go down as a loss.

Dak gets a lot of the blame but there is plenty to go around, and I believe the lions share goes to an unqualified, part-time, amateurish GM that has no business, even his own, to have that title on his office door. Plenty of blame also goes to a group of no-balls, yes men masquerading as offensive coaches.
What you just described well is due $49 million next year.

Guess what? People who have been supporting him are now off the wagon. I'm one of them. He absolutely destroyed the best chance we've had to get to the SB since our last one. He deserves all the crap people can give him. It's going to take much improved play from him next year to get any of us back.
And then we won't believe it until next year's divisional playoff game. A WC win isn't going to cut it anymore. I'm actually expecting a down year next year. It wouldn't surprise me.

People are just tired of Dak the player. I'm sure Dak the person is a good guy, and I would never wish poor fortune on his life, but it's just time to give this franchise a new face at QB. As a person though, I hope he has thick skin at this time in his life. He's going to need it, or, 100% dodge any kind of media. People are harsh, no doubt.

I get it but we’re stuck with him - so surround him with talent.

Youre right, Romo's first couple years he had times where he was careless with the ball. I would agree with you on that. But the key difference, you're comparing a guy in his first two years starting, vs a guy who just finished his 7th year starting.

Romo's last 2 full seasons as starter, he threw 19 INT in 30 games.
This year alone, Dak had 17 in 15 Games.

Ball security should improve over time. Dak seems to be regressing. Hence a lot of the frustration from people.
You're right....problem is can Dak recover like Tony recovered with the high nterceptions? Winning Big Games never got recovered nor interceptions/mistakes at the inopportune time recovered. So.....I'm simply saying no need for the "Death Sentence" so quickly......as it is an issue for this one season, so far. Let it regroup, let our OC do something about it. That's all I'm suggesting posters think about. Dak getting hung, but we've seen this before from our QB.

You have 2 more years of frustration on the way
You have a couple of choices either adjust your expectation and hope Dak gets it figured out and team gets enough talent

Or root for someone else . Dak had crap year but let’s not act like sone of you guys haven’t been piling on him previous to this year and his int barrage

Dak regressing is the Big issue......so KMoore should do something about it or KMoore isn't progressing as an OC. The regressed play deserves an effort to correct, take a deep breath about, improve.......and if it can't...........a personnel change would suffice...........Dak (coverage recognition?).......or KMoore? (running game?, WR routes?, balanced attack? situational football?). Now who tips the scales more?

Am I pissed off he threw two grenades in big spots ? Hell yeah .

Do I think he let us down ? Hell yeah ( stone cold voice )

Is he as bad as people are making him out to be ? Dumb - no

Would 16+ teams take Dak ? Yep

Mocking this guy over his girlfriend?
His facial reactions?
Where were these people when he lit up TB?
Where were these people when he snapped his ankle - horrifically and then bounced back like a champ throwing for nearly 5k yards .
And before he blew his wheel out - he was on pace for 6k yards !!!

That’s when he had weapons of course .

Go get him a Devante Adams - a top
Center - a running back that isn’t a plodding embarrassment.

A scout that doesn’t waste picks on Tolbert and Joseph .

A GM an actual GM.

Truth be told we should have won a ring by now with Dak.

It should have followed Tony Romo’s ring .

Stop piling on this guy ffs …

He’s here for awhile
So holding someone accountable is gutless? Wow, typical sentiment in this country.

Hahahaha Dak deserves every bit of what he is getting when it comes criticism. And every fan that was defending Dak deserves this loss.

I'll go with choice 3
Adjust my expecations, continue to root for the Cowboys, and eagerly anticipate the day when Dak is gone and we can move on.

You're right, I am actually more angry at Jerry, for giving him such a stupid contract we can't get out of now that Dak has proven to be too inconsistent and unable to see the field.

at least Dak's problem is something most people will never be able to do , and thus a very hard to come by skill. It's not his fault he just isn;t the guy.

but the contract Jerry gave him was just stupidity on the GM's part. I mean who wouldn't take a multi million dollar contract if Jerry is just going to throw it away with the wind.

I supported Dak up until the San Fran game. This year's San Fran game. He did play well against the Bucs, but it doesn't matter after his two stupid picks against the 9ers.

Go get a center with what money? Dak is eating it all up.

Fact of the matter is, we had the squad to win it this year...Dak just didn't.

well I went with choice 2 but Id be ok with 3 as well as long as that option dont make it worse than choice 2. Its basically been since 14 that I quit being a SB or bust fan and i enjoy the season so much more. But to each his own

If 16+ would take Dak they should be on the phone right now working on a trade because that dude is never wining a super bowl. He is a mental midget I don't care if he plays lights out every fifth game he folds when it counts.
