Would be an excellent pickAnyone but Burks…and I have a terrible feeling they’re going to take Burks at 24.
They do like Burks, but so do other teams much higher then our pick. He will probably be long gone. What worries me now is Lean is coming in for a visit and our DL Coach was at his pro day.Anyone but Burks…and I have a terrible feeling they’re going to take Burks at 24.

#1 is Daxton Hill. I think he's ready to change games right now, honestly. 4.3 speed, elite man coverage ability, and great tackling in the box give a creative DC a true matchup weapon. No one else at 24 gives you that kind of high-floor high-ceiling game changer.
#2 is Boye Mafe. He and Hill are the only 2 guys I see as game changing talents at 24, Mafe is just higher risk.
#3 is Kenyon Green / Zion Johnson... I pretty much have them graded as a tie. Both are similar power guards who are going to start in the trenches for 10 years.
#4 is Burks. Big play potential but carries a lot of risk. I'd take him at #24 but wouldn't feel good about it.
#5 is Dean. Good player, but in Dallas, he's just going to get washed out on zone runs in playoff games. We have seen this kind of fast WILL who can't shed blocks at least four times this decade. Lee, Bruce Carter, Jaylon, LVE, anyone I'm missing here?
Worse Lean at 24I’d be irate with Burks at 24…the only thing worse would be Burks at 24 and Leal in the 2nd.
My issue with Hill is where do you play him? Is he more of a slot corner or can he become a quality single high safety?#1 is Daxton Hill. Burks is a beast, albeit raw. Could be the next David Boston, a guy who wouldnt' be denied.
Burks is higher than Lamb's caliber. Just not quite ready.Could be, or could be a bust due to such a limited route tree in college.
Way too much risk for the 1st round IMO.
Plus taking another WR in the 1st would be moronic considering we have 2 good ones. I’d make the pick if someone of Lambs caliber dropped but there isn’t a prospect on his level in this class. Good depth but no one I think can be a 1 outside of London.

I agree. Absolutely do not need a WR in the first, especially in a draft that is as deep at WR as this one is.
Bo Melton in the 3rd, if he's there.
Use the Dez template when discussing Burks. Dez entering the league needed work on his route running and was more of a ball of clay when the Cowboys drafted him. They are similar after the catch and have excellent body control /huge hands that allow them to win many 50/50 balls.Based on what?
Lamb had a better timed 40, was a better route runner coming out, equal production and better ball skills. Lamb was a legit top 20 talent and I see Burks as a solid top 50 selection.
I feel like all of the hype for Burks was based on his athleticism and it didn't pan out and now the media talking heads are too scared to back off the hype they created. He has solid potential but he's incredibly raw and there is a MUCH higher bust factor when compared to Lamb when he was coming out.

I too, don't want to draft a WR in rd 1 or we will be in a similar situation down the road, but Burks is worth the 24 pick if they decided to take him.
