Anyone else seen this yet? I hadn't planned on seeing it on opening weekend, but when my wife and I got home from work we found that this afternoon's thunderstorm had left our apartment complex without power. So we went out to eat and ended up at the Studio Movie Grill once again, where we lucked into tickets for the 8:00 showing. Someone even dressed up as Jack Sparrow - pretty funny.

I thought the movie was actually pretty good. The story was easier to get into than the second movie, in my opinion. Plenty of action and humor (I'd hope so - it is over two and a half hours long) and it does a nice job wrapping up the series (or does it?).

I hope it is better than the second one, that one was a little bit of a let down.

I think the 2nd was better than the first, and the third the best of all 3.

I just got back from it...I liked it better than the 2nd one, but not as much as the first one...it feels somewhat tired now.

The A/C at the theater broke down. 15 minutes before the movie started I reported that it was really hot in the theater. I saw about 30 minutes of the movie and sweat was literally pouring down my face. I had to leave. So I found the theater manager and raised hell.

When the movie was over everyone coming out was given free passes to another movie. I was given 4.

You need not raise hell. My dad, being the cheap, old man he is, always goes to theater managers and complains about a movie...whether he liked it or not, and gets free passes. I don't think I have seen him pay for a movie in 15 years.

Anyway, it must have been brutal. I have been to many "cold" theaters before and don't mind it, but the ones with no A/C...especially in a warm climate, are brutal.

In Tucson, A/C saves lives. You pack that many people in a room with no A/C and beyond hot it is stuffy and people are pissed.

I'm thinking of writing AMC Theaters as well because I reported it before the movie ever started and they didn't even check it until I came to complain a 2nd time.

Hugely dissapointed. The second was a letdown, but they had ample time to make corrections for this one, making this an even bigger dissapointment. Too much dialogue. Too many "new rules." Not enough Jack Sparrow.

...as much as it pains me to say, way too much Elizabeth Swann. It's too hard to persuade me that a skinny British woman is a badarse...don't bother. They took the multiple Jack Sparrow thing a bit far too, IMO. ...And what was up with the whole parachute thing...weak sauce.

The best parts of the original where once again scarce in this one. These movies have so much potential, but none have come close to the first one IMO. I'll be skipping the fourth installment.

That's odd. I found the original to be by far the most dull of the bunch. It had way more parts that dragged on than the others. I thought the 3rd was easily the most humorous, and best paced as well.

I liked it, but it was still bloated and went on for far too long. They could have easily cut 45 minutes from the running time and made things move quicker.

Anyone stay after the credits? There was another short scene, nothing overly important, but gives the impression that a 4th POTC isn't likely.

I just did not feel it needed a thread of it's own...so, I took the kids to see Shrek 3 this weekend. It was not very good, wasn't terrible or anything, but there were never any real funny moments in it like the first two.

I have heard a great deal of people saying the same thing. Probably will still get the DVD to complete the set but was hoping it would be good.

I've heard that exact same review from everybody except my 17 YO sister in law. She gave it a "pretty good" it seems the Shrek franchise is losing its luster. I heard they were already planning a 4th movie and a spinoff staring Puss.... so losing their steam now has gotta hurt.
