Why can't we incorporate parts of the pistol offense with Tony Romo? He is athletic and smart enough and has as good or better arm than all the other Pistol Offense QBs.
Tony has great escapability and he is fast enough to run foe positive yardage.
Let's not let the NFL run away from us! :laugh2:

Why would we want to? I want more screen passes, and better run blocking from the running game, not a gimmick that will fade fast.

The pistol is not going anywhere. It gives teams in 3 wides at least a chance at a downhill run game. You don't need a mobile qb to run it either. I would much rather see that than pure shotgun 3 wides on 2 and 10.

This is what I dream of having next season. "Balance"

You need only look at the careers and injury issues of other such pistol quarterbacks for your answer. RGIII may never be the same as a result and the Skins will likely have to completely switch up their offensive strategy back to a more pro style offense.

I think someone already pointed out all his injuries came while in the pocket

I don't know this to be conclusive. I mean, it might be but the last I heard, there was a lot of questions around when RGIII actually sustained his injury.

.........I'd prefer elements of the WCO, that fit the personnel of Murray, WR's and Hanna (speed to create mismatch's)......

Ummm...because he's fragile. Ever watched him get up from a hit? If he weren't so mobile, he'd never make it through a game. No way we want him taking additional hits.

after all the abuse Tony has been forced to endure his career, we want put this on him,,,,he doesnt deserve it, he takes enough hits...

Romo is elusive (by necessity) not a runner. How many broken bones do you want him to have?

The Pistol is just a formation that any team could use whether you have a running QB or not such as the Bills or Lions, I'm guessing you're referring to the read option...

This.

What's the name of that rib joint? Tony Roma's? Because they will be serving Romo's ribs if we try that!

Did you not see the fleet of foot, world class sprinter, get a major concussion and blow out his knee running this with the big boys????

The point remains. The QB is the most important position on offense and therefore should be protected, even if it means having better offensive production in the long run. Period.
