Word is the Panthers are tossing around Paul's name on a short list of possible HC candidates.

Marvin Lewis is also on their short list, I saw it on either ESPN or NFLN last night.

I would like the University of Pittsburgh to know that Paul Pasqualoni and his wife have a tremendous relationship :)

I think their first choice would be Tom Bradley the DC from Penn St but I'm not sure it would be possible to break his loyalty. After the fiasco they just had, they have to land a big name.

Pitt is just a train wreck right now.

I dont know if some remember, but at one time they were a big time college football program.

I thought there was a secret deal to bring Chryst to Dallas already...lol

There might have been, then again there was no opening at Pitt when a deal with Dallas might have been being discussed either. Pitt had already hired someone else.

I can't see the Golden Panthers/Panther Club allowing the Pitt AD to hire a Penn State man as the head coach, but stranger things have happened I guess.

Hopefully Chryst wants to be in the NFL more. If he sees himself as a college coach, he'll take the Pit job (if offered). If he wants to be in the NFL, he'll jump at the opportunity to be an OC here

The Jackie Sherrill days paid pretty well.

You can add Fitzgerald, Mike Ditka, Iron Head, Bill Fralic, Jimbo Covert, Russ Grimm and Step to that list.

Looks like Pitt will luck into a better head coach. Marvin Lewis would be awesome for my alma mater.

Pitt has some surprisingly good talent on the roster thanks to Wannstadt. It is really tough for Pitt to recruit with Ohio State to the west, Penn State to the east, and WVU to the south. The pool of local talent is also decreasing as the population of PA, and Pgh in particular, has been declining for over 30 years. To potential football recruits, the Big East and the Pitt campus are a hard sell. In spite of all that, Pitt will have numerous players on the team right now who will probably be playing in the NFL.

Even when my alma mater Pitt wins, there just ain't much excitement watching Big East football nowadays. Even Big 10 Football has become a bore. It is all about the SEC today.

Money talks. Chryst will be in Dallas.

I don't see our OC position as a good fit for an up and coming guy. Garrett wants to call plays and have a hand in the O. A young guy is always going to be having to deal with the perception that he wasn't calling the plays.

Or he could consider it and wait for a better College or NFL job to open up if he does a good job.

Not sure Pitt is the job you really want right now.

They have talented players on that team but from what I gather from some pitt fans is the locker room is a mess and the inmates run the asylum.

That is part of the reason they hired the coach Haywood...because he was known as a disciplinarian...I guess he was a little too hard with everything that went down.

I read that he had a short meeting with the team players or sent out a memo of some sort that pretty much laid down the law and how things were going to change a great deal and many of the players were not happy.

Who knows if all of that is true, that is just what I have heard and read from some pitt fans.
