New approach that the fans should like on offense?

Does that mean more aggressive? That would be a nice change. Maybe this year we have the O-line and firepower to do it.

Thanks for the info. Pittdawg. From the Jersey shore as well so I'm rooting for Rob too.

I think more aggressive and I also think that with Kosier's mobility we will see more in the screen passes.

glad to see Rob is doing everything he can to succeed. I know it must have been tough losing all that weight, I cant wait to see what Rob can do with a full year of conditioning.

I think he gained weight, from last season. He lost weight before last season thought. I guess he gained weight, but he really gained the good weight, i.e. muscles and is more of firm body type than the loose one he seem to have last year. At least thats the reports we are seeing.

The thing that is also encouraging about Rob is that he was damn fine run blocker in space last year. So many fans and media outlets focused on Rob's struggles against the pass rush but failed to notice an outstanding run blocking effort.

This kid is going to take the job this year, I have no doubt about it. Which bodes well for us. When a second year guy can beat out a solid veteran like Fabini, it speaks volumes to the quality of depth at the position. I'm pulling for Rob and Colombo like nobody's business this season.

Superpunk, you are correct. Some improvements can be seen without pads. Rob is a professional and acting like one.

The great majority of posters on this board are rooting for him to succeed.

as much as i bag on our OL problems, i view him to be our potential right now, so i hope he *can* step it up and be the *good* bp pick!

I truly love seeing stories like this where a guy gets put through the wringer and is still swinging and fighting his tail off.
Lots of people with their priorities out of whack (including me at times) were really down on this guy. Comes with the territory of being a pro athlete I guess.
I get the sense he is going to make a lot of us eat our words from last year.

petitti put up with a LOT of grief last year he didn't deserve and he kept coming. at times last year he was the only one i could see busting his *** regardless of what's going on around him - i like him, hope he pans out and will root for him during the year.

who knows, i may get a custom jersey w/his number on it but iceberg on the back. : ) w/campbell gone, i need another "lunchbox" guy to root for.

You've taken their art and modernized it. Instead of slapping people around in bars you cyber-slap them at cowboys message boards. :D

A**kicking in the 21st century. lol

I'm just a cutting edge kind of Bear...

But permit me to assure you that I bear a few scars from the days when I thought I was baaaad... it should be noted that none of the Cottrill boys was what you'd call "big", in fact I'm probably the biggest of the lot at 5-9... nope, I was not cut out to be a brawler, but it took a few bumps and bruises to convince me of that...

All I'll say is I'm glad, deep down, that they passed along the "I don't take any crap" gene...

but the approach apparently will be different, something the fans should like.

Chemistry at work! :)

I'm liking Rob from the first day...and I liked it when Parcells told him..."I won't let you fail"...

Unlike last year when the team was getting worked out...this year, with all the players getting younger, bigger, and stronger?

I CANNOT FREAKING WAIT! I NEED SOME SHROOMS, NOW! :p:

I mean the previous year, his rookie year, he went from like 370 to 330, but he didn't really have the time to turn that 330 into muscle and whatever.

Gotta give Pittdawg props for not running away after the abuse his son took from fans *me included*. I'm really hoping to see some outstanding footwork from Rob this year, and if he does that, he can lead that side of the line for years to come.

I'm anxious to see that battle out there for that position, and I know Bledsoe is too. I'm also anxious to see how we play the running attack this year since we've gone to a smaller line.

Big Rob was hurt but didn't use that for an excuse that tells me the young man has no quit in him and he has character. PittDawg appreciate you coming here and giving us the scoop mad props to you!
