Rob had a pretty rough day yesterday. I was wondering if you have talked to him yet, and what he may have had to say?

I want you to know that I am behind him 100%, and unlike many people around here I realize this is a process.

Honestly, most do know that, but after we lose you can bet your bottom dollar the emotionally damaged come out in full force, and a level head can be hard to find.

I can see his talent, his toughness, and his blue collar lunch pail attitude.

Like anyone I wish he did not have the day he had yesterday, but I imagine he will have a few more before it is all said and done.

In my mind it is days like yesterday that all young players learn from. Like Parcells likes to say, he kinda got smacked in the face by that skunk.

Tell him to keep his head up, and we are pulling for him!

Rivera played worse than Pettiti. It's the $10 million dollar man next to the hundred fifty thousand dollar man.

I'd take Pettiti every and any day!!!

Rob had a rough day. We expected it. It's called growing pains. But he wasn't the only one playing poorly on the OL. Talk to Al Johnson and Marco Rivera first ...

I'd have been happier saving Rivera's money, keeping Gurode at OG, and get Wahle instead.

wahle wasnt really a possibility. he was from carolina and wanted to go there. not much we could do, or i know parcells would have preferred the younger guy not coming off an injury. Something is going on with Rivera though, that back injury may never heal right, or he may still be recovering, who knows.

Understatement of the decade.

Seems logical. But it's not the physical part of Rivera which bothers me, it's the mental parts ... missed assignments, missed reads, and lousy penalties.

It was better with Gurode in there last year ...

Pittdawg, tell Rob we are with him! I don't think he played all that bad considering. He is learning and will get better with experience. He was on an island most the time and that is tough for anyone.

As far as those that wanna blame specific players, other than Cortez, this was not a single player issue. This loss was on Parcell's. He lost control during the game and it showed in the way we played. His ranting and raving on the sidelines does nothing for his team and only serves to make everyone feel they have to make the spectacular play or they get an a** chewing.

Bledsoe threw that ball because he sensed Parcells was panicking and he wanted to make something happen. Bill needs to back off the expectation of perfection. JMHO.

Rob made some rookie errors. He wont give you shut down performances week in and week out his 1st year. I hope he learns from this game, but also goes out and forgets about it, he needs to remember what he did to Strahan and Kearse.

I think that if Rivera offers to give back all or part of his signing bonus again that we should maybe take him up on the offer...

Is Rob taking EVERY offensive snap?

Oline rotation isn't as easy as dline, and unit cohesion can't be interrupted.

But we are both 'resting' and rotating in many different areas now.

That isn't true of our offensive linemen other than AJ.

They are working HARD.

ya really, wonder if he offers to give back a portion of his bonus everytime he makes a boneheaded play.

Yeah, seriously. I can't believe people are blaming this loss on a single player such that they are calling him out like this, and a rookie at that. It's ridiculous.
