Kickers don't draw a lot of attention typically, but it's worth noting that letting Maher go and picking up Forbath was a change that needed to be made. We'll see how he does moving forward.

He made 3 FGs and 5 point after kicks. He was perfect and put up 14 points. The momentum making kicks makes goes unspoken. And missing kicks has killed us in recent past.

Full disclosure, Forbath has more missed more XPs than Maher this season despite playing only two games.

But Maher kicking field goals was like a magic 8 ball.

True nice for now..you maybe dont remember how Bad Baily and nick folk got before we let them go and the fact that Maher missed his first kick then made 11 thats eleven in a row his first season..

kickers are like golfers when they lose it it happens fast and is slow to correct,,ie the yips..

That was a change that needed to be made......a few weeks ago.

Keeping Maher on the roster so long was beyond ignorant.

So I don't give the Cowboys credit for changing kickers. I blame them for taking so long.

As long as the dude can manage to keep kickoffs inbounds, he will be a marked improvement.

It was a good move. I get why they kept Maher as long as they did. A guy with that kind of leg power could have been a great weapon if he could cure his yips on the mid range stuff.

Maybe even last season. I remember that the staff never brought anyone in. I wonder what the immediate impact was from all of those missed kicks.

I give Garrett/Jerry absolutely ZERO credit for this change, sorry. Maher should have been replaced before this season.

Our ST unit is the worst in the league by a country mile. At the very least the ST coach should have been publicly fired after the Tavon Austin fair catch debacle. Oh wait, Garrett's brother is on the ST staff hmmmmmmm.

Just like in games, this team has no way to adjust from "keep doing what we are doing" even if it's going horribly wrong.

The ST staff is terrible
Kicking aside we can’t cover or put together a return

Maher didn't seem the least bit concerned with his misses. He had to go. Forbath should be on a very short leash.

Agreed I think missing all those FGs was killing team moral
