Plain jane offense not using talent...

I'm okay with the fact that our offensive isn't super complex like Indianapolis or Tampa Bay, but I honestly believe that the reason why we aren't doing anything is poor design based soley on a gameplan, or to put it better a philosophy.

We've got Terrell Owens, but to make him a factor we have to move him around in the backfield. Teams shouldn't be able to lock on him. Doing this not only creates single coverage for him, but also creates weaknesses in the defense, and makes it harder to know what we're doing in either the passing or the running game.

This truely opens things up for Jones, Witten, and Glenn.

Using Anthony Fasano better will also improve the passing game and the running game.

We obviously need to implement more quick slants from Owens, not only does it give him the ball quickly, but allows him to make some yardage on the ground. It also gets the ball out of Bledsoe's hands more quickly.

You really DO see why Owens blossomed in the west coast offense, and while he hasn't put up huge numbers here.

We need an offensive scheme that best utilizes our players. I think we have a better offense and defense than New England, yet they're still the better team... makes no sense... we've also got better special teams...

I guess the difference is the coaching...

The only things that will help our passing game is either better blocking or a more mobile QB. Nothing else really matters right now.

Our coaching staff is a freaking joke. Zimmerman sucked under 4-3, Zimmerman sucks under 3-4, I really didnt think it was possible to be vanilla under two completly different schemes, but Zimmy pulled it off. I guess we dont have an OC right now, maybe thats why we didnt make one single adjustment until about 5 min left in the game.......freaking amazing

Its seems like everyone in this thread needs to learn the difference between poor execution and poor gameplan...

Zimmer's gameplan for example and scheme are excellent. Reason we gave up 3 big plays on defense against the eagles was poor execution.

As for the offense, we have two of the best receivers in the nfl, and the nfl leading rusher... yet the offense has no consistency, and the passing game has yet to get going....

the inconsistency is the problem. blame that on the O-Line and somewhat on Bledsoe

I agree however to move TO around depends on how much of the offense he knows. This is not just about the coaches they can use TO up to the point they are comfortable with his knowledge of the offense

Drew could have saved his arse with a quick slant just once or twice last week. ugh!

Someone mentioned that Aikman used to get the snap, stand up and hit Irvin with a quick 5 yard slant. Has that play become illegal or something?

If you're giving your team a gameplan they can't execute, its not a very good one.

Right now the Cowboys have "plain Jane"'d their way to the NFL's 3rd best scoring offense in the league. Gruden and the Bucs have "creatively" found a way to score 12 points a game.
