I never start threads but I haven't heard this talked about much.

Our strength is our running game and GB's strength is stopping the run. I have always believed that you attack the defense's weak link, and GB's is in the secondary.

Why would we go away from conventional wisdom and beat our heads against the wall, when we know they have a weak secondary?

Honestly, I think we will be able to run the ball but GB is going to sell out to stop the run. I hope the team is prepared to take advantage of GB's weakness and loosen the reigns on Prescott.

All of the teams that Green Bay has played have terrible rushing stats. It's not clear just how good GB is at stopping the run.

Having said that, the Cowboys obviously need to challenge GB's pass defense. IIRC their top 2 CBs are out.

Been saying the same thing for days now. Completely agree we should soften them up with the pass early.

Been saying that for days. Everyone in the media wants to make this about our run offense vs. their run defense. But the story is their vulnerability against the pass. Blake Bortles torched them; Bradford torched them; and Eli should have torched them accuracy issues). This partially explains the low rush totals (along with them playing all 4 teams without a start RB, etc.). We should throw early and challenge them down the field opportunistically (e.g., at mid or plus side of the field) and then punish them with some will crushing drives based on a physical rushing attack in the second half. Just like the days of the triplets. Beat them early with Aikman seal the deal with Emmitt. I love our chances if we avoid negative. Force the Packers to beat us and I think we got this handily.

It's not like our weakness is passing. I see the play action pass playing a prominent role and we have been keeping the deep pass in our back pocket.

I would stay with the same game plan that has been working. If that does not work against GB, then they can change it in the 2nd quarter.

Yeah, I am in no way advocating getting away from the run, but I hope they take some opportunities to let Prescott take advantage.

GB defense has also had problems with read option QBs......just the threat Dak provides on the read option will slow down their pass rush as well so Dak could have a big day passing. On the other hand, we are a run team so we are going to run obviously. As long as we eliminate TOs, GB will have a tough time with the Cowboys offense.
