Plausible Nightmare Scenario

I think Marcell Dareus fits the Cowboys scheme better. Dareus could play NT, DE, or inside in the 4 man line. Dareus has more power and will be the better NFL player, imo.

I would take Tyron Smith over Fairley, and I think there is a good chance that Dallas would, too.

Fairley has the "one year wonder" issue, a shoulder injury, and a "work ethic" issue (see number 1). He isn't a 100% clean prospect, and he will probably fall a little. However, the Titans would jump all over him at 8. I guarantee you that. Their GM loves SEC players. If A.J. Green was there, they would probably take him, too. One of those guys..if on the board...

our biggest need OT

possible teams that possible pick an OT IMO

so 17 sounds pretty good to me

19 New York Giants Giants need a left tackle of the future because William Beatty has struggled thus far in his brief NFL career
21 Kansas City Chiefs Chiefs need to improve both tackle positions.

22 Indianapolis Colts
23 Philadelphia Eagles
26 Baltimore Ravens
29 Chicago Bears
31 Pittsburgh Steelers

our biggest nightmare would be repeating the 09 draft. thats going to haunt for a while.

Stephen Peterman was picked in early round 3, but he suffered a bad leg injury. You can't really fault the pick.

Jason Witten, for some strange reason, fell to the top of round 3. That was pure luck.

The 3rd round picks have been pretty bad for the Cowboys.

Jason Williams shouldn't have been drafted until the very tail end of round 4 at the earliest, imo. (looking back) I think the Titans would have taken him with their comp pick. They took the inside linebacker from Southern Miss.

Robert "Buster" (I mean Brewster) is a big swing and a whiff.

I don 't see this as a nightmare scenario at all.

Nate Solder
.

This guy is a nightmare pick for us IMO.

Major bust waiting to happen.

Passing on Fairley would be sheer stupidity.

Same with Da'Quan Bowers.

For some teams, I'd agree.

For us, dont agree. Not really sure either fit our defensive scheme. Both look like far better 4-3 players to me.

I'd trade down some more and select Carimi (before the Giants pick) or Harris (in the twenties). We can always move back into the first to select another OL, DE, or corner.

Brandon Harris, CB, Miami.

Or trade down and gun for Rahim Moore, FS, UCLA and Stefen Wisniewski, OG, Penn State at the top of the 2nd round.

I'll tell ya, I love Fairley's potential and Bowers would also be hard to pass up but the more I settle in on this draft, the more I believe we must go OL.

I believe that this team, even thou we had a down year last season, has entered it's window for championship contention. I also believe that in order to fulfill that desire, we must have a strong OL. I do believe that another pressure player to match up with Ware is important and I beleive that Safety is almost as great a need as is OL but I just think that we must address Offensive Line with quality players.

OL will be available lower in the draft and I believe that we should try and target those draft spots to make certain we secure the right players.

1st Rounders ?

Fair question: the usual thought is a 3rd, but I could see us getting their 2nd and giving up our 3rd or 4th. Depends on their Julio love.

However, the upside is what it is after the fact, what do you do now?

And even though I don't agree as a fan, I get the sense this is what the team might think. The Cowboys and others that tend toward a 3-4. Which is why the drop despite the talent.

This point is debatable, but I feel plausible.

The more I think about it, the more I'm beginning to like this guy for us. I think we really screwed up the Felix Jones pick. When we orignially drafted him, I thought he'd be a situational runner. I thought he showed a ton of promise two years ago....but he's never really taken the bull by the horns. You'd think he'd be able to win the starting spot from Barber by now.

I think we're really missing a move the chains, carry the load RB.

I would not cry if we drafted Mark Ingram.

Felix did win out over Barber.
