If he was allowed to own a gun in NY then he is allowed to carry it as well. If he does get convicted he would be wise to challenge the law. I happen to agree with Dogberry on this.

After being inspired by Vince Lombardi's "Catch Excellence" quote, Commissioner Roger Goodell posted a sign above his office door for the likes of talented young players entitled "Catch Stupid"

If this guy were TO the coverage for the stuff he has done this year would be through the friggin' roof

They better beat the Commanders, even without Dead Eye Burress.

What gives me hope is how good the Giants are at ignoring distractions.

I mean, they dealt with Tiki all of last year, Burress all of this year, plus the Strahan/Osi retirement/injury.

Of course, the one time we actually WANT them to overcome a distraction, they'll probably crap themselves. :banghead:

I think the Giants will be business as usual today. Plax has been enough of an idiot this year that I think the Giants are condtioned to ignoring the problems that surround him.

I am upset about this story but don't feel by any means that "the sky is falling" in Giant fandome.

Hixon will step up in his place. If we lose today it will be hinged on a tough NFC East rivalry, not Plax.

And Pierce's involvement won't bother them either?

I think I speak for most fans when I say Pierce is more of a concern. IMO however, Pierce is looking at a very small punishment. Perhaps a slap on the wrist from the law and a 1 or 2 game suspension (if that) from the NFL or Giants org.

Pierce will be here for the playoffs, not so sure Plax ever suits up as a Giant again. Just my opinion.

ESPN said this morning Pierce will be charged with a felony, too.

I saw the clip too and rewound on my DVR. They said Pierce could also be facing charges, nothing was said about felony charges though.

Everything is speculation at this point. Like I said, IMO, Pierce will receive at most a slap on the wrist and 1 or 2 game suspension, if that.

Pierce will be here for the playoffs. If he was not, huge concern. Plax, not so much.

Please. Burress is the one receiver you have that scares defenses. Pretend like it doesn't matter.

I'm not saying it doesn't matter, but it certainly doesn't derail the Giants. They are a physical running team.

Plax not being present can slow that a bit because defenses can avoid the Dbl team but Hixon is a very capable replacement who can get open in single coverage.

If you think one more in the box is going to STOP the Giants ground attack you are crazy.

This is a weird story its a little bit shady to what actually happened and why he had the gun in the first place.

I'm pretty sure hiding a firearm that was used in a felony in another state is a felony as well. Maybe one of the lawyers here can chime in.

Sounds like it should be. I don't know. I didn't come here to debate law.

Like I said, as much as I hate to say it, this isn't nearly enough to prevent the Giants from winning the division. They should beat the Skins today, the Eagles next week, and they have the Panthers at home, and Brad Childress will probably be cleaning out his office prior to their wk17 game.

The best case scenerio for us is to win our next 3, and hopefully use the finale at Philly as a bye week. I don't have any problems with that, especially if our WC opponent is Arizona.

Not to mention he could possibly face charges in both states or he could possibly face Federal charges because he took the gun across a stateline. Pierce was plain dumb to do what he did. He should of helped Burress get medical help but he should have stayed clear of the gun, obviously.

Considering Pierce has been cooperating, my guess is that nothing happens to him.

I don't think police consider it cooperating if you only offer to cooperate if they promise not to seek charges against you. My bet is he will face some sort of charges and league discipline but it will likely be minor.
