Player acquired fron Atlanta´s practice squad?

I am thinking Parcells believes with another off season for our rookies and a few additions, we can have a top 3 D next year, a Raven type D with a better Offense.

Can someone explain to me why we would get this guy with the DE depth we already possess?
Because Kenyon Cloeman sucks!!!!

or big for an OLB.

which I think is what they are looking at him for.

HE's about the same size as Greg Ellis. I think dude is too big to play LB.

It still seems a bit odd to me. Special teams maybe...but doing what?

Doubt he sees the field this year. Usually around this time of the year teams use their open roster spots for their own PS guys -- because that means you keep their rights another year. We did the same but were able to steal someone that looked better to us.

Not really much to the move at all. It is just about getting in some more bodies. We had a spot and we looked around for the best PS player we could fill the spot with. I'm sure if there was a CB or RB out there that was better we would have signed him instead.

This isn't about position at all.

like Merriman? like half of the Raider OLBs?

there are some OLBs in the league heavier and some as tall. not many but I can't see BP interested in getting smaller on the defensive front rather than having bigger LBs

I remember Parcells saying, that his ideal DE would be about 6-5 280. I'm thinking he wants Glymph to start Jurasek's training program now, so that he can add some bulk/muscle by TC next year.

His 27 sacks in 25 starts during college is one thing to his credit.

I think his height and weight from the Falcons roster is inflated. He was listed at 6'3" 260 when he signed as a UDFA with the Packers. He might be playing heavy to fit into the 4-3. He had 11 sacks and 13.5 TFL's his final year at Carson Newman in 12 games
