If this defense truly wants to be elite it must acquire a Veta Vea type of NT/ DT than cure achilles hill of this defense. On the offense the front office needs to sign OBJ or trade for Lockett from Seattle.

The 49ers may have the league's best defense, and they have nothing like a Vita Vea. Buffalo is also at or near the best, and they also have nothing comparable to Vita Vea.

I'm wondering how many players with the size and ability of Vita Vea you think there are that would be available to acquire this far into the season?

As for Beckham, he won't even be available to play for at least another month.

They’re having a fire sale in Carolina. Wouldn’t mind DJ Moore and/or Derrick Brown with a star on their helmet.

Stop already. DJ Moore earns $20M+/year so Dallas wouldn't pay that and Carolina isn't trading their 1st round DT.

Think more the following:

DT Larry Ogunjobi Pittsburgh
DE Clelin Ferrell Raiders
DE Robert Quinn Bears

Those are the types of players Dallas should be looking at for reasons of contract/performance/scheme fit.

I would try and trade for DJ Moore. And if no trade at DT sign Suh maybe

I would have been happy with Robbie Anderson.
Say NO to Ichabod. He's a troublemaker.

The 49ers have a big guy Hassan Ridgeway who looks 320lbs

The Bills have several DTs around 330 lbs:
Jordan Phillips
Daquan Jones
Tim Settle

i like ogunjobi.
good young player.
liked ferrell at clemson.

Not true at all.

Eagles game, all but one of the big gainers were inside runs

I see what you're saying but I wouldnt say less than 10 yards is a big gainer. They only had 5 carries of over 5 yards and only one of those was for more than 10 but still under 15.

None of these guys are the quality of Vita Vea (Jones is the only one close), so I wouldn't say they are players like Vita Vea.

Plus that, Settle is 313 and Ridgeway is only 305.

But if size is the requirement, the Cowboys have Bohanan at 360, and he plays about the same % of snaps as Ridgeway.

That said, don't get me wrong. I would love the Cowboys to have Vita Vea, or someone with that size and talent combination, but they don't grow on trees, and what few there are you can't just snap up at will 6 games into the season.

It's not specifically NT, we need mashers up front, talented horses who won't be blocked.

It's not size, it's talent. Disruption.
