Player Needs. FA and draft

From a cap standpoint, there are two contracts that have to go:

Sean Lee and Tyrone Crawford.

Both guys are grossly overpaid for what they're bringing to the table.

Lee just can't stay on the field. It's terribly frustrating for everybody but the bottom line is you can't pay a guy who can't play. Rework the deal of regrettably say goodbye if he won't.

And Crawford is useless out there. A dog chasing cars, miscast in either role they're trying to play him. Take a look at how many times that guy fails to make a play, his talent for it is astounding. And it's well past time to get that awful contract off the books. Pay cut or be cut.

I think the same only opposite. After this season they are going to want to do something to generate some interest and that is acquiring a big name. Without a 1st round pick that is not going to come via the draft. Earl Thomas is the name they want, they tried a few times to get him this season/off-season. Not saying it is what I would do or like to see, just that it fits their modus operandi for this situation.

Now it could also be said that they don't spend on free agents and I agree with and understand that logic. This time, with no first round pick, things may be a bit different. Hard to stay on the sidelines the entire off-season.

Either way its going to be a long 10 months. Hope we get some coaching changes to at least provide a glimmer of hope right after game 16.

I'M YOUR DADDY!

You would think this would be easy to see but people still believe we are a safety and a nose tackle away from a championship
Not even close, but position by position, DT and Safety are two key positions where we are below average.
On offense, having a passing game dependent on mostly role WRs with no TE or receiving RB is a disaster. Coaching can’t fix that. The front office needs to fix that. Then better coaching will actually accomplish something.

We talk about this every year. Until there is a deep dive on why this is a failing organization, nothing will change.
Exactly....we have been dancing around the real problem for many years, and I think we're seeing a good portion of the fan base is realizing that nothing will Change as long as Jerry is still around.........I think it's been more apparent this year than in the past.

Days after flushing next year's premium pick.
That premium pick wasn’t flushed, imo. It was used very wisely on one of the weakest positions on the team. We fixed a huge issue with WRs, and we did it with a 24 year old who is a veteran and doesn’t need a year or two to figure it out. Cooper is going to be a key piece of the offense going forward and will be signed to a new contract.

Wow....I disagree on Crawford. I think he’s been one of our best and most consistent players.

No problem, a lot of people do. But if you have the courage to relive it, re-watch last night's game and keep an eye on him and see how many plays he missed, starting with Lawrence's forced fumble that was right there in front of him. And then watch how many times he took himself out of key running plays or was stonewalled by the left tackle. I'm done watching a poor scheme fit "try hard" and fail to get the job done. He's a good person and team guy, but I'm tired of the disappointment that comes with him, and especially the failed contract he was given.

  • Fire Garrett & Linehan
  • Hire new HC / OC tandem. I like Chris Petersen, but pick your poison.
  • Allow new HC to make staff changes (bye Keelan)
  • Offseason let HC sign best FA QB—probably Bridgewater.
  • 2020 draft new first round QB (probably takes your 2020 & 2021 1st)

Jim Harbaugh

I disagree on Crawford as a player but his salary is higher than his production
He’s a solid player but he’s paid a lot of money

Coaching will change everything if he makes the right pick.

Five coaches and two playoff wins over the last 20 years suggest it's probably not quite that simple.
