It is a fait accompli that Murray is going to lead the NFL in rushing. He is 29 yards from passing Emmitt's team record for best rushing season in terms of yardage gained, ever. He needs 10 yards to pass Emmitt's record for yards form scrimmage in a single season. Let's face it, if he had not got hurt he has both records today. 255 yards next week gets him to 2000, but that isn't likely to happen as we all know. He added his 12th TD this season today. That ties him for 6th place all time in a single season. The record of course, belongs to Emmitt in his for now team record season of 1995 when he got 25 of them. The greatness of Emmitt does not in any way diminish from how good Murray has been this year. With 5 more carries he will pass Emmitt's 1995 record of 377 carries.
Tony Romo was magnificent today. He passed Troy Aikman as the all time yards passing leader in Cowboys History. In doing so he moved past Ken Anderson as well as Aikman for 31st place all time in NFL History. He is now 29 yards from being the first Dallas Cowboy to surpass 33,000 yards passing. 100 yards next week will move him past Y. A. Tittle for 30th place all time. He is within striking distance of Steve Young in 29th place. You want to know the most remarkable thing about his new team record? He did it in 540 fewer pass attempts than Troy. Tony came in to this game tied with George Blanda with 236 career TD Passes. His 4 today moved him past Jim Kelly and Len Dawson, and has him 2 behind Y. A. Tittle for 21st place on the all time TDs list. If Tony were to tie today's results next week he would be in the top 20 all time. He has 32 TDs on the season, his 2nd best season ever.
Jason Witten once again passed Anquan Boldin on the career receptions list. He is now tied with Art Monk for 14th place all time. 3 behind Derrick Mason and 11 behind Andre Reed. Witten passed Harold Jackson for 35th place on the all time receiving yards list. He also added his 57th career TD reception.
In the same game Dez Bryant caught his 54th, and 14th on this season which is 1 behind Terrell Owens for the team best ever. His 86 Receptions are right outside a top 10 season in team History and so are his 1221 yards receiving.
