"Teams in the top 5 are evaluating him like he's going to be a top-5 pick. Specially the Dallas Cowboys have been very, very involved starting to get background information on him from trainers from coaches, reaching out to that Ole Miss Staff. And also the San Diego Chargers. So you have teams picking there early in the draft who have a need for defensive tackle or for a 5-technique defensive end in a 3-4 scheme. His athleticism is so, so appealing to be 6-4, 285 pounds and run like a tight end or a wide receiver, people are excited. I think we're going to continue to see his name move back up from where it was during the season. From what I've heard, it's one incident. It's something teams are going to be able to get over if he takes care of business between now and the NFL Draft."

Baylor DE Shawn Oakman met with Cowboys last week, received pass-rushing tips from Rod Marinelli

Shawn Oakman certainly passes the eye test. The former Baylor defensive end measured in at 6-7, 269 pounds last week at the Senior Bowl.

He was one of the most impressive players in Saturday's game, recording two sacks and forcing a fumble for the South team.

Oakman transferred to Baylor after he was dismissed from the Penn State football team for violating team rules in October 2013. During his junior and senior seasons with the Bears, Oakman totaled 15.5 sacks and 34 tackles-for-loss.

The Cowboys met with Oakman last week.

"We just discussed pass rush, mostly," he said. "We discussed how to play during the game and during practice. They gave me pointers on what I need to do better."

Cowboys defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli was also part of that visit.

"He gave me a few pointers about my pass rush from the first day [of practice]," Oakman said. "I think I showed him a little bit [in Saturday's game]."

Led ND is sacks but he's not a quick twitch guy. Good depth guy I would guess and wouldn't mind a late round flier on him since we have a bunch of comp picks.
