Dez: I want to set the market. Why? It's your best chance to get them cheaper. If Denver decides Thomas is worth 18 mill a year guess what? Dez is worth 20 then. Set the market and get this over with

Frederick: is there a safer guy to extend? Reason why I extend him soon is he is going to be very expensive 3 years from now. My goal is to keep this line together, not have to pay them all mega contracts around the same time.

Crawford: this is a player I wasn't happy with until last season and he's still a risk because he hasn't had a blow your doors off season yet. I'm still not sure he is pro bowl potential, but he could be. He looked good last year. My theory on extending him is whether he is pretty good or whether he is a beast, guys like Hardy, Lawrence, and possibly Gregory are going to get a lot of attention, this will raise Crawfords stats, thus raising his salary.

Extend these 3 players yesterday and save some cap for tomorrow.

I see a lot of people talk about Crawford but I haven't really noticed him yet. I honestly don't even know what number he is and I know a ton of the players numbers.

Why would these guys re-sign now and lose money in the future? It's in their best nature to wait it out it seems.

I would definitely extend Crawford as soon as possible. With the way things are shaping up on the DL, I think he's in for a really good season.

I remember both Crawfords making plays last season. Crawfords play didn't show up in the stats but you just get that feeling that his year that will change.

Because players know you can't predict the future and like all of them a major injury can alter their career at any moment. It is the risk the team takes to extend it and a risk the player takes

Because if they have a bad injury, then their value go's down. And if the Boys are in good shape, they might get a offer now, than they would when the cap space is a little more tight. Just some thoughts.

I don't think all players think like that. Dez has had deals offered to him and he's betting on himself. That's what I would do too. If try and cash out at my peak as opposed to before it.

Sure they do that is why they want the guaranteed money and the big signing bonus.

I understand what you're saying. But look at Dez right now. He hasn't re-signed. And his stock keeps rising. If I were Fredericks id do the same. I think Tyrone is one of those guys that could be a potential candidate sort of like Ratliff and Scandrick before him.

Unless Dallas overpays, I doubt Crawford signs anything before his first season without coming off injury.

Right so why sign now for lesser guaranteed money? I can see if your injury prone but if you are Dez or Fredericks you're thinking about signing now when every year you've been raising your value and getting better? You may can get the Tyrone Crawfords of the world to bite on that but I don't think you can perennial Pro Bowlers. You are going to have to pay market value for Dez if not more.

It's the concept that works for me as a fan. It's not today's reality, but a damn fine concept.

Injury prone or not has nothing to do with it, these guys know this is a violent game and it can end at any moment, most players would gladly taken an extension on their current deal. As we also know a contract today does not mean the player will not be coming back for more later on just as Scandrick did. But players want the security that extended contracts and guaranteed money provides.
