Miles Austin - What can we say? Probably one of the most breakout players in NFL history with the numbers he has put up this year and considering he was undrafted. Just needed some time to develop. Boy has he ever.

Igor Olshansky - Strong like Bull. This guy is slowly becoming dominant. Especially as of late. In the beginning, fans were claiming he'd fill Canty's shoes, but to a lesser extent. Igor has been more than we had hoped for. I love #99 and look forward to a few more years of really good play.

Mike Jenkins - His sophmore year has been awesome. Has shown great ball-hawking skills. One of my favorites.

I'll add a couple of others:

Doug Free - great feet and athleticism and he can absolutely crush people in the open field. I dream of running screens with Kosier, Gurode and him leading Felix. I think he is our future at LT.

J Phillips: he seems to be a very good blocker, better athlete than I expected.

K Ogletree: I know it has only been 6 catches but he has shown alot of potential on the basis of these plays. He is physical, can run after the catch and seems to have very good hands. His routes look really clean.

V Butler: I didn't know he had that sort of explosive pass rush ability. If Brandon Williams and him can give Spencer and Ware some breathers we will be a better 4th quarter team and should be able to close out games better

Carpenter: not quite a total bust outside of special teams. has made a few plays at nickel LB

A Ball: at times he has looked really good patrolling CF. Could he be a converted safety in the making with some coverage ability like a CB. This is a thing NFL teams drool over. He would need to bulk up a little more.

Mike Jenkins- This guy has been playing outstanding D, a great ball-hawking corner.

Anthony Spencer-Had a slow start but has picked it up the last few weeks and this is what I thought what we'd get when he drafted him.

Free-filled some pretty big shoes when Colombo went down.

Miles-What can I say about him. An outstanding WR. And Congrats on the Pro Bowl.

Keith-A team leader , Deff. one of the greatest off-season signings in a while.

Romo- I don't need to say anything about him. Hes played lights out this year without T.O.

We did really well in Free Agency, which helped offset a weak draft

- Sensebaugh has really helped us. What a huge upgrade over Roy Williams
- Igor, as noted
- Brooking has been near Pro Bowl level

Rookies:
J Phillips. I broke down some footage and was amazed. In the plays I watched he never failed to make a block. The fact that he can catch a few is a nice plus. I have more confidence in him as a reliable player than MBen (though he doesn't have the upside)

I don't see what another poster noted about Butler. He was flat awful when he had a lot of reps in New Orleans. I mean AWFUL. He had those few sacks and showed some burst edge in another game, but that's been it. Injuries gutted the few drafted rooks that might have contributed on defense.

Most Improved
Obviously Miles, Jenkins and in the last month we've seen Spencer come on.

Downside
I'm not surprised about Roy. I fully expected mediocrity. I am surprised that Martellus hasn't contributed more. That man is going to look in the mirror and grow up -- or he's going to fart away a ton of talent.

Miles Austin without him we'd probably be out of the playoffs right now

The players that have impressed me the most this year are:

Tony Romo - With all the negative press about him and the pressure of having the late season failures somehow attributed to him, even though they have been going on since Aikman was the QB, he has handled himself wonderfully and has led this team to the playoffs. He is having his best season and the team is doing great.

Miles Austin - I don't believe anyone knew what we really had in this kid and we haven't seen it all yet!

Keith Brooking - I was so hoping we would take him in the 1998 draft and was disappointed when we took Ellis instead but I am glad we have him now! He is the leader this defense has needed for a long time.

Not a player but I have to say that Jerry Jones and the staff has impressed me this year. Jerry seemed to be much less involved in the draft and FA and we avoided headcases, primadonnas, trouble-makers, druggies, thugs, etc. and went after TEAM players and guys that just love to play the game.

Getting rid of Terrell Owens was a HUGE move by Jerry and one that took some guts to do but it has helped this team and given it a new attitude that I believe will take it a lot farther than it has gone in a long time.

A lot easier to say who hasn't impressed.

Roy. Folk.

Bradie and T-New are having pretty average seasons.

Miles Austin never thought he would put up the number he has, let alone stay healthy.

Tony Romo definitely stepped up his game, became more of a leader also.

Anthony Spencer becoming a force opposite of D Ware, probably playing a bit better too......

Mike Jenkins seems to be getting better every week, a true shutdown corner.

Keith Brookings a big upgrade over Zake Thomas, has a bit left in the tank and finally a leader on defense this team has needed for a long time!

Miles Austin - No competition for #1.

Mike Jenkins - I am surprised he was THIS GOOD.

Anthony Spencer - Second half of the year and he is showing flashes of having potential to be another elite LB, we already have 1, add another one and we are a dynasty.

Bobby Carpenter - Oh boy, I was thinking he would go down as one of the Cowboys biggest busts, he has started coming into his own, seems more confident out their, and maybe, just maybe, could develop into a starting MLB, his improvement HAS to be attributed to Wade's coaching, give props where it is due.

Keith Brooking - he brings the FIRE.

Gerald Sensabaugh - Shutdown Safety against elite TE's.

Wade Phillips - Fantastic coaching.

Tony Romo - he is a deity, only reason he is this low is I expect this from him, he is the best QB of all time as I have said 100 times before.

Kevin Ogletree - I smell the next Miles Austin.

Victor Butler - What can I say, he makes plays and as a rookie WON us the game vs Philly.

Ken Hamlin - The least big plays of any team, he is the QB of the defense, he is going to be our FS for multiple years to come.

DeMarcus Ware - The only reason he is the list is because of the NO game, he is on a stretcher6 days before comes and plays and wins us the game with 2 forced fumbles on 2 sacks and ending the game with one of them. Exceeding expectations when you are D-Ware is something hard to achieve, but he does it time and time again.

Disappoint:

Roy Williams - Expected more, how does it feel to be replaced by an UDFA?

Martellus Bennett - Expected more.

Nick Folk - Talk about hero to zero....
