serious question, what exactly did Gilmore do? Did you watch his game?
I caught most of the abbreviated version of that game. Granted it was against a pretty bad Giants offense but Gilmore did a solid job. He followed nabers most of the game and only gave up about 30 yards in total. My initial reaction is he seemed on par with where he was a year ago.

The cowboys gambled that they would not need him. We will see if that was a good call. But to be fair those are the decisions you have to make. I happen to think it is in the acquiring side of things where the boys most fail in FA. They dumpster dive way too often. Kendricks is likely the big outsider brought in; and I bet that was a lot of zimmer's doing.

I really wished we had lept him, but after seeing Carson, I think I am fine with them doing what they did.

The Giants are so bad, we will have to wait to give Gilmore a real grade.

I've been busy with kids sports all weekend and haven't even gotten to watch all the Dallas game yet. (Made sure to watch opening kickoff as I haven't missed one of those in 30 yrs)

How did some of the former players look?
Smith, Pollard, Biadasz and the rest of the commie squad with Quinn
PFF graded Pollard really poorly. 40th at half back --below Zeke and Dowdle.
His poor grading was related to being a receiver on pass plays. His pass blocking was his high mark.

Biadasz ranked 16th at OC which was 4 spots below Beebe for us and 5 below Ex-Cowboy Connor Willaims.
But obviously still midline at starting center.

Dorance Armstrong tied for 41st at edge. below of course our starters.
Dante Fowler scored worse.

Tyron Smith scored 34th at OT but obviously well above Tyler Guyton who they fried.

... I saw Smith last night against the 49ers and he was having all sorts of problems. Bosa was working him hard. Rodgers under duress most of the time.
Tyron Smith is nowhere near what he once was. All the wear and tear. Believe he has been in the league since 18yrs old. He isn't exactly very old but been in the league now 13-14 years. Injuries piled up. He's lost a step. Should have replaced him well before we did but was glad to see us finally move on from him. He was no longer a strength on this line.

BS. He earned that All Pro honor last year.
