Who do YOU feel are the guys that have not lived up to your expectations this season? Please give your reasons why.

I don't care why you disagree with me and don't want to hear it, what I want to hear are which players have let YOU down this year.

Here's my list:

1. Marco Rivera - Last year we heard that the problem was with his back but that this season he was all better now and would be outstanding for us at RG. Well, he sucks! If anything, he is worse this year than last season. He is far and away the weakest link on the O-Line and this has been the downfall of our offense the last few weeks as we have been unable to run the ball consistently on 1st & 2nd downs. He is the 2nd player I would replace after Owens in the offseason. I might keep him for depth depending on the cap implications but I would find another starter at RG.

2. Terrell Owens - Considering that I was expecting him to drop passes, short arm balls, pull up when he thought he might get hit, run lousy routes, and cause problems with the team, which he has done throughout his career, he STILL hasn't lived up to what I thought he would do well for us, which was take short passes and turn them into long TDs. So far he has broken ONE short pass for a long TD this year, ONE! He would be my first cut this offseason. He has put up some decent numbers but not $12M worth! And he has cost us a couple of games with his drops at inopportune times. I would rather suffer with Crayton, Hurd, and Austin opposite Glenn, at least they will improve.

3. Marcus Spears - I was so excited when we drafted this kid because he was a beast at LSU but he has done very little for us since that day. I thought he would be perfect for the 3-4 and could slide inside when we went to 4 DLs but nope, he hasn't been what I was hoping for. He is pretty good against the run but is a non-entity in the pass-rush.

4. Chris Canty - Here's another guy I was thrilled to get in the draft and he showed a lot of promise as a rookie but he has done nothing this year. He isn't even as good against the run as Spears. Both of our starting DEs have been major disappointments this year. I like our backups though as Hatcher, Coleman, and Ratliff have all played well in limited time. Maybe Spears and Canty would work better in a 4-3, I don't know, but I do know they suck right now.

5. Anthony Henry - Henry has been burnt so many times this year for TDs that he has earned Elvis Patterson's nickname of "Toast". For a guy who had a reputation for playing the ball he has certainly not shown it this year. He has also missed a lot of tackles and seems reluctant to make a big hit. I see him standing around a lot instead of pursuing the receiver after a catch when it looks like he could make a play on the guy. Lackluster is the word that best describes his play this season. He looked like he was in no particular hurry on his INT the other night, just jogging along. I have no idea why we continue to start him at CB instead of moving him to FS where we really need help. I guess Aaron Glenn isn't much of an upgrade though.

6. Julius Jones - He has shown flashes at times but simply runs into the pile way too often. Barber may not have his speed but at least he usually finds a hole and is always moving forward. Jones goes down too easily lately too. Now granted he is getting the ball on running downs and there haven't been many holes for him but he isn't even looking for them anymore, just running into the pile. I expected a lot more from him this year.

7. Kevin Burnett - Here is another guy I thought would really step up this year but he doesn't have his head in the game at all. I don't know if it is because he's not starting or what but he's not into it.

8. Bobby Carpenter - For a 1st round pick he sure has taken a LONG time to start coming around and has yet to really make an impact in a game.

9. Anthony Fasano - I thought maybe Bill knew something that we didn't when he passed on OT Marcus McNeil (traded down and the Chargers took him with the next pick) to take a TE we didn't need. His reasoning was that we would be running a 2-TE set as our base offense and Fasano was the next Bavaro. Yeah, well he ain't Bavaro and we hardly run the 2-TE set. Even if McNeil wouldn't have started over Columbo, he would be a better backup option than Fabini. Thsi is probably more of a disappointment with how the coaching staff is using Fasano but if he were all that then he would be playing more.

10. Mike Vanderjagt - I know he's no longer with the team but we had high hopes of fixing our kicking woes when we brought in the all-time best kicker but he totally sucked! He sucked so badly that we cut him in mid season! Even worse, no other team has signed him! The Commanders signed the guy we cut to keep Vandy! He cost us at least one game this year and never came close to living up to our expectations.

My hope is that Parcells decides to retire after the season, we bring in a new coach who wants a whole new staff as well as a return to the 4-3. We cut Owens, Fabini, and Bledsoe and sign/draft OL, WR, CB, and FS.

I'm not sure about most on this list but I definitely agree with Rivera. the next on my list would be all of the LB's outside of Ware (and perhaps Ayodele).

I'd agree on Rivera, he has been a free agent bust...maybe the biggest one in franchise history (its not that that he is dreadful, but considering what he is paid he clearly isnt worth it, and most free agents we have signed over the years have worked, even before Parcells got here)

I'd agree on Vanderjact too, eh was lousy...the others I wouldnt agree on...Owens has a legit injury but has still posted pretty big numbers...he played days after surgery and ignored potential season ending surgery to help the team...JuJo definitely not, because he has a 1000+ yd season and we clearly do not have a good run blocking OL (how much more proof do you need, we couldnt run consistently on Indy, New Orleans or Philly, the 3 worst run d's in the league)...Burnett is not even a year out of ACL surgery, give him a break..Spears and Canty play in a terrible defensive system and have a poor position coach, same with Carpenter...Fasano is a rookie and plays behind an all pro TE...you great exaggerated Henry and he is also playing hurt

there's nothing wrong here that good coaching and a few minor tweaks in personnel cant fix

People are hilarious on this board, 3 weeks ago, everyone was saying Burnett should start at OLB cause he can cause pressure, and thank god aaron glenn signed an extension. A few bad games and everyone should be cut? Hilarious

I agree with your whole post except the Rivera part. Oh, he's been a bust, but biggest I'll leave you with 1 person: Marcellus Wiley

I agree with most of your list, but I don't put JJ on it.

ONly those with ridiculous expectations of JOnes being a star back would be disappointed.

He's a 2nd round pick, when we could have had Stephen Jackson, and he's running behind a suspect OL, yet he got his 1000 yards...no big woop, but those who thought JJ was going to be a 1500-1700 yard back are just delusional.

Those who think Marion Barber will be a 1500-1700 yard back are equally delusional...these guys are what they are....a 2nd round back taken too early at that and a 4th round pick with great value for his selection. Neither will ever be a SuperStar back in Dallas, which is what Stephen Jackson would be right now....we have a rb by committee, and JJ can't be let go unless we replace him with another RB.

I wasn't asking anyone to agree or disagree with me, just to post which players didn't meet YOUR expectations this year.

Personally, on Offense, other than RIVERA, I'm o.k. with the performance all in all. Sure, I wish TO could hold on to the ball better, but I also think his hand injury is constraining him a bit. He would still have his drops, but probably not as many.

On Defense, I'm most disappointed by Spears and Canty. I just expected a bit more production out of each of them. I understand their role in the 3-4, but a couple of batted passes, for example, maybe a forced fumble or two . . . .

That said, both are young players, and I hope they continue to improve. I guess we'll see . . . . but for now, I just thought they would make a bit more of an impact - esp. Spears.

I think it's too early to put the rookies on this list and it isn't fair to compare them to players we passed on. That being said, the list has to include the following:

1. Rivera- Probably the worst starting guard in football. He is what Al Johnson was last year... overmatched. If his salary won't let you cut him, then you swallow the bill and make him a backup. Guard has to be a priority in free agency this year.

2. Davis- If this guy ever gets snaps with the #1 defense again, something has to be wrong.

3. Roy- Some early picks but the last two months have been dreadful. A lot of this is a scheme problem. He should not be spending 75% of his snaps in deep coverage. This guy should have 5 sacks a year minimum. He has zero.

4. Spears/Canty- Alot of the preseason mags listed these two guys as breakout players and they have been busts. They both seem tailor made for the 3-4 so I'm not sure what the problem is. We better figure it out cause we are stuck with them for a few years.
