Players You Forgot Were Ever Cowboys

The Four Irishmen and a Scot

That was the name of this OL

Tom Rafferty, John Fitzgerald, Pat Donovan, Jim Cooper.....and....Herb Scott

Paved the way for Tony Dorsett, before the Great Wall paved the way for Emmitt.

Huge mistake........should have played his entire career as a Cowboy

Yep. There's an interesting summary on his time with the Cowboys on Wikipedia. You should check it out.
He was showing great promise before his stomach issue. But then again, we cut him.

+1 for the nickname of the oline. That's one the young bucks may have never heard before.

LB Mike Walter.
had him in camp...cut him...he becomes a solid pro and integral member of the Walsh era,Montana led 49ers.

TE Todd Christensen....we had him at RB...Coach Landry asked him to switch to TE...he said no.
We cut him...he signs with Raiders,becoming a multiple x all-pro.....at TE.

Not forgotten, but had either had a brief stint with Dallas (and later had a better career with another team(s), or suffered injuries derailing a promising Cowboys career), or veterans who arrived in Dallas based on wishful/optimistic thinking by the front office.
