Just to keep the draft zone going why don't we identify some players by their name, position, and number that we're currently watching.

Right now I'm watching #72, left guard, Frederick for Wisconsin in the Oregon State game on FX.

I know USC is on ESPN2 and they have the top center prospect not counting Barrett Jones from Bama.

i thought frederick was playing center this year?

I just flipped it over to watch him and it's halftime.

I did get to see #82, TE, Prince for Oregon State and he looks like a good all around TE.

The Notre Dame TE is showing why he is the top TE prospect in 2013 against Purdue.

Watching the Georgia-Mizzou game now.

Georgia has a couple big bodies up front in #6 John Jenkins 6-3 358 and #99 Kwame Geathers 6-5 345 who are two of the better DT prospects in the draft.

Also have #29 Jarvis Jones an OLB who might be the best LB prospect in the draft.

Two O linemen that I really like Faulk at LSU and Holmes at USC got hurt this week. If they go in the draft next spring they likely fall because of it. Faulk playing LT at LSU looks like an ideal RT at the next level. Holmes one of the best centers in the country. Faulk supposedly out for the year with a knee and Holmes ankle injury looked pretty bad.

I really hope RT isn't a need but Free just hasn't looked good at all this year so far.

I was so pissed when he got beat inside the other night. That should never happen.

Kawann Short NT for Purdue had a pretty impressive game today against ND. Short was a stud last year but looks like he's in even better shape, very good combination of power and quickness... made ND's line look silly most of the day.

I really hate the number of times I have read the term beast mode, however Jarvis Jones has been in beast mode tonight for Georgia

Jarvis is from another planet. It is like he is playing on astroturf and everyone else is playing on sand.

It's been one game.

Well you shouldn't since the games mean virtually nothing.

The scores mean nothing. The players still get evaluated.

I also saw Gabe Jackson, Left Guard, Mississippi State, and I thought both he and his teamate looked good. Whoever the right guard is on that team seems a little quicker.

I'm ready to watch North Carolina and A&M some more because of they talent they both have.

I wouldn't mind A&M's Right Tackle replacing Free.

i agree

he would be rigtht at the top of my wish list if he keeps playing like he is

The 2013 draft is pretty weak at the center position, and the best of the bunch, Khaled Holmes from USC, has injured his leg. The Cowboys may want to look at the guard position to help improve the offensive line.

I think we target this position in round 2.

One candidate I will keep an eye on is:

Travis Frederick, OG, Wisconsin 6'4" 338

Frederick is one of the nation's top guards, at one of the best schools for producing NFL caliber linemen. He is being moved to center this year, so if he plays well there, I like our chances to grab him for either the center or guard position.

It still doesn't seem like the Cowboys have a solution for kick returners this year. Felix Jones has looked lethargic and I doubt he is brought back next year. The 2013 draft will have some dynamic kick returners to offer.

One that I will keep my eyes on is:

Tavon Austin, WR/RB/KR, West Virginia 5'09" 172

He doesn't have the size that you look for in a receiver, but he produces on the field and could be a weapon in the slot or on screens. He also played RB, so he provides some versatility. He will help out most on special teams, where he is one of the most dynamic returners in the country, something the Cowboys sorely need. Some scouts are comparing him to former NFL return great, Dante Hall.

I agree JJ the team hasn't had a good returner in a while and that is something they do need with the team on the rise this would benefit them greatly if they have a return threat and maybe Austin, will be that guy we shall see.

you ever seen

Dennis Johnson Ark

5-9 #213

CAREER SUMMARY: Johnson enters the 2012 season as the SEC’s active leader in all-purpose yards with 4,104, career kickoff return yards with 2,475 and total return yards with 2,475. His kickoff return yards total is an Arkansas record and ranks fifth all-time in the SEC, and his all-purpose yardage total ranks fourth in school history. He also holds the UA record with 102 career kickoff returns and is tied for fourth on the SEC’s all-time career list with three kick returns for touchdowns. His career kickoff return average of 24.26 yards ranks fifth in school history. He has appeared in 38 games and made 10 starts, rushing 208 times for 1,279 yards and five touchdowns and catching 38 passes for 350 yards and two touchdowns.

Along with his kick return duties, Arkansas senior backup RB Dennis Johnson has been named the Razorbacks punt returner.
Johnson is obviously taking over for the departed Joe Adams, who returned five punts in his career for touchdowns. "I think Dennis has a feel where people are," special teams coordinator Steve Caldwell said. "He has got that breakaway that once he sees the gap he can hit it." Receiver Marquel Wade was also under consideration for the job until he was dismissed form the program. In a recent article, we stated that we believe Johnson is the best third down back in the country, and this kind of versatility will only add to Johnson's evaluation.

On ESPN right now South Florida is playing and they have a receiver named Andre Davis who looks like a heck of a WR prospect.
