Tyson Thompson - He's fast. Lightning in a bottle, as he's already shown in camp. But he's not just fast. He's also big. At 6'1" and 215, he's no scat back. I think he could be a unique talent and a great kickoff returner.

Reggie Love - He's a legit 6'4" and around 230 with room to grow. He played hoops for Duke, so he's an agile athlete. If he can make the transition he could be a heck of a weak side LB in the 3-4.

Justin Beriault - I know. He's probably a cinch to make the team. I also know that he was more of a SS in college. But I would love to see him get a shot at the FS starting position. He hits like a ton of bricks and his coverage skills are underrated.

I'm pulling for them all but one guy I will be paying attention to will be RB Marion Barber. I saw quite a few of his games with Minn and I think he has a good chance

I would like to see Ratliff in the D-Line rotation as well, and think we will at some point this year.

Also like the idea of putting some of those massive guys in the goal line Offense, esp since Ratliff actually has played TE.

How many DE do you keep? I mean, there are a bunch on the roster.

Chris Canty - 6'7", 290
Greg Ellis - 6'6", 271
Jerry Ratliff - 6'3", 295,
Marcus Spears - 6'4", 305
Kenyon Coleman, 6'5", 295

With Dallas playing both the 3-4 and 4-3 we may be keeping more than normal with some of these guys filling different roles other than DE

Yeah. Canty would be a great DT in the 4-3. I could see the team keeping all five DE and only two DT.

Bickerstaff

I say Jones/Barber impress so much that Bick beats out A-train as more of a short yardage/fullback type

Jones/Barber/Thompson
Polite
Bick as as hybrid

How many roster spots do you guys really feel are up for grabs right now I see at least 45 players who I feel will be on the roster leaving 8 spots up for grabs

Can someone give a general breakout of the number of players generally on the roster at each position?

As far as spots up for grabs, I see fewer than 45. I think we'll see a bunch of linebackers.

With Ratliff being a guy who can move into the middle in a 4-3 set I could see us keeping all of those guys...provided we are getting good ST play out of guys like Ratliff and Coleman.

the first three will be here this season. Polite is a FB not a HB so he is in a different catagory and Thompson will have to make the team as a returner of ST player IMO.

I See those 5 DE's making the team, plus Freguson and Glover at NT and there is your D Line. Ratliff could be the swing man. :iggles: :suxiggle: :disseags: :lombardi:

I don't think Bickerstaff has a snowballs chance myself...

I think Polite could be a huge upgrade vs "can't block anyone" Barnes...

I see Berry-O developing so we can finally cut Lynn "SOOOOOOOOO SLOW" Scott...
It will be fun to see the new guys develop!
