Does anyone remember how many teams we had to play last year coming off their bye weeks? Seems like it was 3 or 4.

This may be something AdamJT13 could answer, but it that about the league average? Or did we play more by quirk of the schedules?

This year we have 3 teams coming off bye weeks if I looked at the schedules correctly. There was Houston, Washington this week, and Arizona next week.

I'm not claiming that there is any kind of conspiracy or anything, I just want to know on average, how many teams should you expect to play coming off their bye weeks. Maybe the average is 3 or 4??

look at the bright side, tho. if you're gonna play 3 teams coming off a "bye week" - these creampuffs are pretty much made to order. :D

True. Very true. You can never predict (with accuracy) a Cowboys/Commanders game though. However, I will make a guess we will win.

Since there are 32 teams and 32 byes then the average would be to play one team after its bye each season.

Well if the Boys have to play 3 Bye Teams this season, it can't get much better than Ariz, Houston and the Skins.

Let's look at it:

There are 32 teams and each one gets the advantage of playing after a bye 1 time. There are only 32 chances to get a team coming off of a bye. Total fairness would mean that each team gets disadvantaged only one time. For every team that gets more than 1, there will be a team that gets none.

The Cowboys, Skins and Ravens each got three. SF,NO,SD,TB,HOU, and CHI all got 2.

12 teams got none: Phillthies, Cards, Panthers, Lions, Vikings, Raiders, Chefs, Jags, Colts, Steelers, Bengals, and the Jets.

The best you can say is that the schedule makers made no effort whatsoever at being fair.

Excellent work!
Can someone please explain the logic behind all the " well at least these are bad teams".
That's not the point. For every extra bye week rested opponent we lose a competitve advantage. Maybe we win all three games. Who cares? The games themselves were still more difficult then they had to be. Maybe we get a key injury in the 4th Q of a game that should have been over sooner.

This matters. Back in 2003 we had 4-5 bye week rested opponents. Parcells, who rarely complains about anything like this, was fairly poed about it and mentioned it more than once in press conferences. If Parcells believes it matters than so do I.
Jerry needs to step up, stop acting like a beyotch, and put his ****** foot down on this. Let the ficken eagles get stuck with even one extra bye week rested team, Lurie would be crying like a p---y.

What about the other 11 teams? You only listed 21 teams.

Yeah, the bye week thing is a disadvantage.

But there are other disadvantage factors in the schedule ... traveling on a short week .... and especially traveling on a short week after a road game. And so on.

The Cowboys got stuck with extra bye week teams. But there are other aspects of their schedule that are pretty decent.

Thanksgiving at home every year has worked out nicely for them.

I think I remember that the Cowboys played somebody at home who had to travel to Dallas on a short week (after just having played on the road). Was it the Commanders?

Sorry about that. They all got the expected 1 game each. :banghead:

I'm assuming they all had one, the seemingly fair and right amount.

It could be a lot worse. As far as I'm concerned we play one team coming off bye, Skins. Houston and Arizona don't really count, at least not this season.

I put this in the same category as the big concern about us having 3 away games in a row. It's more like two away games and then Arizona.
