Im sure Im missing something obvious, but what I don't get is how if both Philly and Dallas win out, except Philly beats Dallas, how Philly would win the division

They would have the same record
They would've spilt head to head
Dallas would have the same NFC East record
But
Dallas would have the better NFC record

Common opponents comes before NFC records I think.
I just looked it up and posted it in another thread.

Right now we are 5-4 and the Eagles are 5-3.

We have the Bills and Bears left which Philly beat both, and then the Commanders.
Eagles have the Dolphins, Giants twice and the Commanders.

Just beat the bills and let’s go from there....this team has a game and a half on Philly and if they win against philly it’s basically 3 game lead with the other 4 to play.....we are in the drivers seat just need to win 2 of the final 5 plus the Philly game and we win the division

I think common opponent win% would be tie breaker and with Philly beating teams with a higher win % they’d eek it out.

Common opponents is before Conference record when it’s for a division. They beat the Jets.
