Now while I don't think the Cowboys will make the playoffs there's a playoff machine on ESPN. So I was playing around with it and here's what has to happen for the Cowboys to make the playoffs:

Wk 13:

Texans over Philly
Giants over Commanders
Cowboys over Indy

Wk 14:

Minnesota over Giants
Cowboys over Philly

Wk 15:

Philly over Giants
Cowboys over Commanders

Wk 16:

Cowboys over Cardinals
Vikings over Eagles
Packers over Giants

Wk 17:

Cowboys over Eagles
Commanders over Giants


I see this as about a 5% chance of happening but I wanted to put the exact scenarios that would get the Cowboys in the playoffs.

So, even if we win out, we have a .8% chance of making the playoffs.
This is assuming that each of the other games has a 50% chance of going in our favor.

Have you watched the Giants at all in the past decade? A Giants collapse is almost a given.

It's a real shame they didn't. All that play offs are impossible would have stopped.

We had a shot til that loss. Especially with the losses by the eagles and bucs that weekend.

When you look at all the variables, you just say "Damn, if only we had done this" or "If only this one thing woulda went right".

The OP wasn't the only scenario. It just needs adjusted slightly now.

Philly must lose twice to Dallas, to Min. and to NY.
NY must lose to Wash twice, to GB, and Min.
Wash must lose to Dallas, TB, and Jax
Dallas needs to win out.

Washington beating NY twice is the biggest hurdle, but the odds are very small anyway.
