As much as I want Dallas to get a chance to play the Giants in the playoffs, if you dig deep into the current status of the league, the odds are that this will not happen.
First of all, there's still a decent 30%+ chance the Giants don't even MAKE the playoffs. Yeah, person who doesn't look at all the data, you heard me right. So let me educate you. The Giants are currently 3-3 on the road. They have to play at Philly who is 4-2 at home on 3 days rest - a typical disaster for road teams. Then they have to play a Commander team in Washington that may be playing for a playoff position themselves. So, if the Giants finish 10-6, how do they not get in? Easy, either 2 of these three things happen - Green Bay finishes 10-6, Tampa Bay finishes 10-6 and the Commanders finish 10-5-1. Two of those three things are actually PRETTY likely. Wash has to beat Carolina, Chicago and the Giants of course. Green Bay has to beat Minn and Detroit. Tampa has to beat Carolina and NO.
So, there you have it. NY is NOT safe.
But let's say NY can win a game on the road and makes the playoffs. Then they will be the 5th seed most likely at 11-5 or 12-4. At that point they will most likely play Detroit or GB on the road. If they play Green Bay, that means they will be playing in Lambeau against a team that has won 6 straight. Good luck with that NY. OR, they have to play a rematch with the Lions in Detroit. Detroit is 6-1 at home. Again, odds do not favor NY in that situation.
So, unfortunately it appears the odds for revenge mean having to probably wait until 2017.
P.S I think if anyone posts in this thread that we haven't clinched division and so we fans should focus on doing that first should be banned. Just say'n.
