Assuming the Giants win their next two, we can get into the playoffs with victories over Phili and NY. The Tampa game doesn't matter.

If we beat Tampa and lose to Phili and then beat the Giants, we WOULD NOT make the playoffs.

Seriously, I would be shocked if we pull 2 games from the next 3.

What if the Giants lose the rest of their games?

In case you are wondering, the Giants host the Skins next week and then play the Jets.

Lose to a 4-9 team and then win back-to-back divisional games for the division?

Thanks.

I didnt realize the Tampa game doesnt matter for us. I am guessing its the divisional record that would be hurt by losing to the eagles.

Im not feeling great about beating the eagles. That team is really hard to figure out and that 1st game was such a domination.

Lets hope Rex Ryan can help us out with the giants.

The only way the Tampa game matters is if the Giants happen to lose to either the Skins of the Jets because then we wouldn't be forced to win against Philly. The only way we get in without having to beat the Giants in the Meadowlands is if they drop two straight and we win two straight. The simplest playoff scenario is beat the Eagles and Giants and we're in.

Lets focus more on the wild card than the division. There is an outside shot at the wild card.

That's not true. If we beat Tampa and lose to Philly we'd have a 2-3 division record and a 6-5 conference record. If the Giants win the next two, they would have a 3-2 division record and a 5-6 conference record. If we beat the Giants in week 17, we'd both be 9-7, we'd both have a 3-3 division record, but our conference record would be 7-5 and the Giants would be 5-7. We'd win the east due to a better conference record.

After head to head and division, common games is the next tiebreaker when two teams are tied for the division not conference games.

Make the playoffs and lose in the opener does do much for me.

I'm not even sure we can win out anymore. And if we can't, what would the playoffs matter anyway this year! Of course, after watching us find new ways to lose games, I don't think the playoffs are anywhere on the horizon for this team!
