Playoff Seedings Unfair

The more I think about it, I believe the seeding of the playoffs are unfair why are teams that win the wildcard with 10 and 11 wins penalized and teams like Cardinals and possibly the Chargers rewarded with only 8 wins? I think they should seed the 6 teams (4 division winners and 2 wildcard winners) according to their records.
To tell you the truth I hate the 8 divisions format wish it was only 2 divisions in each conference, but I understand why the league made it that way to keep more teams, thus fans involved later in the season.

it is actuall going to help us this year. Think about it. If we get in...there is a good chance we will either get the Cards or the Vikings. Two teams we are better than....two teams with ideal weather conditions. One out west...the other in a dome. So I really can't complain

They should ad two more WC's to each conference.

They should do away with first round bye. Just give 1st seed HFA throughout the playoffs.

It probably happens anyway. They will make more money playing the #1 and #2 seeds in first round... plus the other 2 team per conf.

I was not really talking about it from it's good for the Cowboys point of view, but from a purest point. I'm just saying teams like this years Colts, Falcons, and possibly the Cowboys are being penalized for being in a tougher division were there are good teams.
But I agree with you, and hopefully it works to the Cowboys adavantage, I would love another shot at the Cards.

There's nothing wrong with the playoff format as is, and no, we dont need more playoff teams.

No more playoff teams. We don't want football to end up like basketball and hockey, where the regular season is nearly irrelevant because so many teams go to the postseason.

Nothing wrong with the current playoff system.

I like how they place so much importance on winning your division.

Besides, teams should be chomping at the bits to play a team that only won 8 Games.

Yeah I like it the way it is. Division winners should always get in and get a home game. otherwise dont have divisions. Just put everyone in a conference and take the top 6.

I agree 100%. I like it the way it is now. No need to jack with the system. Besides, I would LOVE to face the Vikings or Cards in the 1st round, as I think they provide the best remedy for our 12 year playoff victory drought.

I hate the idea of adding to the playoffs. All you have to do to make the playoffs would be in the upper half of the NFL. 16 teams, 8 from each Conference is exactly half of 32.

That's too much. Too many teams in the playoffs is what cheapens the NHL and NBA.

No kidding. Look at the playoff race as it is *right now*. There is a major level of excitement going on. With us and with many many other teams. Even at that, there are team in the playoffs that really have no chance at winning the Superbowl. (Cardinals anybody) Why would you want to add more of those type teams to the mix?

This may sound stupid but how about the NFL getting rid of the Pro-Bowl game and add another week to the playoffs? The NFL can find another way to honor the Prow-Bowl players.

I say this, because I find the Pro-Bowl as a meaningless game and I would much rather see a more important and fair game than the Pro-Bowl. JMO

No, I don't think they should get rid of the Pro-Bowl. Yes, it's meaningless, but it's for the fans. What I think is very wrong about it is that it happens in Hawaii where 98% of the real NFL fans don't ever get a chance to be there. The MLB, NBA, and NHL All-Star games move around to different cities, but the NFL screws it's fans by always making it in Hawaii.

Well then, if they do shorten the pre-season, then maybe they should use those 2 weeks to benefit the playoffs.
