Here's how I see things shaping up for the playoffs in the NFC. Several of the 6-6 teams still have to play each other. I see the Giants coming out on top of those. It's entirely possible an 8-8 team makes it in. As for division winners:

Chicago 10-2 @StLouis Tampa @Detroit GB
Seattle 8-4 @Ariz SanFran SanDiego @Tampa
New Orleans 8-4 @Dallas Wash @Giants Carolina
Dallas 8-4 NO @Atl Philly Detroit

Chicago will lock up a bye. Their remaining schedule is just too easy. Seattle could loose to SanDiego. That's why the New Orlean's game is huge for Dallas. It can make the difference in getting a first round bye. And it's possible the Saints don't lose another game. Although it would be nice to see them beat the Giants on the road, I don't see that happening. The Cowboys schedule is in their favor with only one more road game left.

NO still has to play the Commanders, Giants and Panthers after us, they could easily lose 2 of those games. Carolina already beat them once, the Giants are a better team in my opinion but who knows if which Giant team will show up. I dont see them finishing better then 10-6, especially when you consider they havent beaten one team with a winning record all year.

Seattle and Dallas are the 2 teams that will be fighting it out for the 2nd seed in my opinion. Both teams are capable of running the table but its more likely they will both finish 11-5. Not sure how the tie breakers will play out in that scenerio.

I think New Orleans drops all 4 and finishes 8-8.

Dallas:
To clinch home-field advantage: Must win at least two games AND Bears must lose out AND Saints must lose three times.

To clinch division title: Must win one more than Giants (currently hold 2-game lead).

To clinch playoff berth: Must win at least three games.

REMAINING SCHEDULE:
Dec. 10 vs Saints, 1 p.m.
Dec. 16 at Falcons, 8 p.m.
Dec. 25 vs Eagles, 5 p.m.
Dec. 31 vs Lions, 1 p.m.

This is how I see it ending in the NFC:

1. Chicago Bears 13-3 (only loss: to the Rams)
2. Dallas Cowboys 12-4 (who is going to beat them?)
3. Seattle Seahawks 10-6 (losses: Chargers and either 49ers or Arizona)
4. New Orleans Saints 10-6 (losses: Cowboys, Panthers)
5. Carolina Panthers 9-7 (only loss: Steelers)
6. Philadelphia Eagles 9-7 (only loss: Cowboys)
---
7. New York Giants 8-8 (losses: Panthers, Eagles)
8. Falcons 7-9 (losses: Cowboys, Eagles, Panthers)

Edit: This scenario would land us a first round BYE and a home game in the divisional round, probably against the Seahawks. If the Saints win this weekend, then Dallas goes from the 2nd seed to the 3rd and probably faces the Eagles or Giants at home in the wildcard round, then on the road against the Saints for a rematch.

They [Commanders & Giants] will lose just to screw us out of a bye week. :D

If both teams win out, Seattle wins the tie breakers based on common opponents. If Seattle loses to Arizona and Dallas beats Detroit, the Cowboys win tie breakers based on strength of schedule unless one of Seattle's losses is to San Diego. If that happens, Seattle wins tie breakers on better conference record. Confused yet? :lmao2:

That's mighty generous. Seahawaks losing to either AZ or SF ? Doubt that. And the Eagles won't beat a healthier Giants team. And the panthers are probably the softest team left in the playoff race. They'll probably lose this weekend.

The Squawks aren't that good. They already lost to SF three weeks ago, and they were really lucky to get past Denver last week. If Plummer started, they probably would have lost that game. Hasselback still doesn't look 100% yet.

Doomsday, I am confused about something, this is what you said;
Dallas:
To clinch home-field advantage: Must win at least two games AND Bears must lose out AND Saints must lose three times.

To clinch division title: Must win one more than Giants (currently hold 2-game lead).

To clinch playoff berth: Must win at least three games.

Dec. 16 at Falcons, 8 p.m.
Dec. 25 vs Eagles, 5 p.m.
Dec. 31 vs Lions, 1 p.m

We are 8-4 and so are the Saints, I think you meant to say, that the Bears must lose 3 games for Cowboys to clinch home field advantage throughtout playoffs, not the Saints, if we beat the Saints, and win all of our games, and Bears lose 3 games, then Cowboys clinch home field playoff advantage, right? Not the saints have to lose 3 games, If we beat the saints, and saints win all of their rest of games, but lose to us, and one game behind us, then we have home field playoff advantage right?

Did you know that if Seattle, Dallas and the Saints all tie the Saints will get the first round bye because of a better overall conference record and our head to head game will mean nothing?

So let be written... so let it be done.

All this playoff talk is making me really happy to be a Cowboys fan, I think the Cowboys have to be itching to get back on the field against the Saints!

Go Boys'! :star:

yeah, that's true. Too bad you will finish 10-6 after losing to Dallas and New York

If the Saints hold on to win their division even, Carolina might finish 10-6 and have the dreaded tie-breaker you marvel so much about over your team.

This is reality and it is likely to happen.:D
