Playoffs and momentum

One of the arguments I keep hearing about resting starters is that you can't go into the playoffs without momentum. I'm not disagreeing at all with that statement, but just wondering about Giants vs. Wash game next weekend.

The Giants are locked into the 5 seed, so that game means nothing to them for playoff placement. But if they should lose, they'd be stumbling into the postseason on 2 consecutive defeats. So will the New Jersey team play all out against the skins, who will be playing for their playoff lives? Or do we not care since no one believes either team can do damage in the playoffs anyway?

I will disagree with that statement. We currently do not have momentum. But then we may have gotten it back versus the bucs?
If that's the case momentum can be stopped and started from week to week?

Then there is no such thing as momentum lol that's not how that works

I think they'll play the starters in the first half and then start replacing them in the second half.
I think the problem with these type questions and scenarios is that the right answer resides in the future. If you rest the starters and the team loses, everyone will say it was the wrong approach. If you rest the starters and you win, everyone will say it was the right approach.

I think the Giants situation is different. They won't have a bye week, so, essentially, they won't be getting a rest between the regular season and the playoffs. So I can see if they rest their starters. Also, they have a quarterback who has been in these situations before and who has won a Super Bowl.

Each team has situations unique to itself.

I think they should play them , and win the game.
If they get far enough ahead, then sure pull them.

Oakland was playing carr when they had a big lead early in 4th, he and others could have been pulled.

It depends on how good your starters have played recently, if they are playing bad, they need to play, and giant just lost
to eagles, so they need to play.

Dallas has played below par, and then par with buc's, so they need to play.

I don't think we lost momentum, we just ran into so tough physical teams with good defenses and 3 games in 11 days or whatever it was

Momentum is overrated going into the playoffs. I believe history shows confirms that.

So we did have momentum and when facing playoff caliber defense can only muster 7 ppg?

Sounds like there's no reason not to try romo then ya know

What......haha. we won all those games and lost on the road to a division opponent fighting to stay in the playoff race.

Let me know when Romo has 11 game win streak

By the way they scored 7 points in 1 game they didn't average 7 points in that stretch......nice try though you get an A for effort

If we go 1-3 in our last 4 games ... I guarantee we go home early in the playoffs. Play to win !!!

Momentum = crisp execution

The more you practice and play the crisper and more fine tuned the execution. Works in everything. Try not writing ( hand writing for six monthes), when you first start writing again it's a little wack.

I could be wrong, but I think the Giants' wild card opponent will be either the Falcons or the Seahawks; since I think the NFC North winner will be locked into the 4 seed.

I want to see the Giants knocked out in round one.

Can't answer the question I get it. The ones that want Romo at any cost say all the same things
Yes they won the game.
No I don't think they were sharp or had any semblance of momentum.
I honestly forget what thread I was in I thought this was the "let's try both qbs" thread. So romo actually had no relevance here and I was off topic anyway whoops lol.

You brought up Romo with the 7 ppg (which was false) so we should play Romo.......you said that not me.

Seriously if you can't remember what you write then why continue this charade. Good day to you merry Christmas but I'm done here
