Playoffs, none if one and done?

Honestly I think Garrett getting the team to the playoffs and losing would get him fired quicker than not making it. If the cowboys don't make the playoffs, I'm sure Jones will have a long list of excuses such as injuries and such, but if garrett gets the team in and loses to a good coach again in prime time I think he gets the axe for sure.. I'm assuming about 90% of us want garrett gone right? This is what gets him fired knowing the dysfunctional method in which Jerrah's brain works.

Getting in is the biggest thing, but the top 4 teams in the NFC look pretty clearly set (Packers/Saints/49ers/Vikings), and I don't really like our odds against any of them. This isn't a team that's going to beat 2 or 3 of them in a row plus the Patriots.

I have a sinking feeling that we're going to win the NFC East and then meet Daddy Rodgers in another playoff game.

In order for that to happen, they'd need to win the North and the Cowboys get the WC or the Cowboys get the East and GB gets the 6th seed, most likely.

I do think GB is winning their division and the only way DAL gets in is as the East champ so they couldn't meet until the NFCCG. Wouldn't that be something? DAL returns to GB in Jan.

woops. sorry.
S'ok, interesting prediction, how do the Cowboys get to 29? Is tht a 2 point conversion at the end to win the game? Garrett shows some guts and goes for the win instead of playing for the tie. That would make sense since the book says you go for the tie at home.

They get a safety at some point.

Maher misses an extra point lol

I think you’d rather play the game to at least see how it works out.

Something happens to some fans with a team with repetitive behavior and some are purely results driven for the season, it is all about the destination, the journey is inconsequential. And there is no good or bad to it, it's just how you view the season.

If the Cowboys were to make the playoffs, and right now it looks like winning the division is the only way they would, and they were to lose out in that first round, would you rather they didn't make it at all?

Would the disappointment and frustration of that be to the point you'd rather just have the season end after 16 games?

Those are your only two choices, none of that "anything can happen in the playoffs", the choice is simple. End the season after 16 or end it after 17 games?
Couch--- i aint ready to just call it that way yet....Dak has taken big leaps this year as a pocket passer ..our O line appears to be going into beast mode....if somehow we can maintain healthy team and not lose players to injury we will be a much tougher out

So...you wanna know whether we wanna make the playoffs or not? It’s always good to have young players get playoff experience, even if it’s just one game.......is this some kinda weird trick question or something.?.

Apparently it is, because so many people are completely missing the premise.

Nope, I wanna know if posters want to make the playoffs, if they're going to lose that first game.

Everyone wants to make the playoffs, even worse than they want to rule the world. But some don't wanna go to the fair if they can't ride all the rides.

You don't have to call it yet, this is purely hypothetical. Want a 16 game season or a 17 game season.

One poster made a post that started this question when he said he takes playoff losses a lot harder than a regular season one because of the finality and would rather not go than go and be one and done. I've seen that mentioned several times and while I do not share that, I do understand it and do not think anyone like that is any less of a fan. I do not think SB or bust fans are lesser fans.

And some posters confuse managing expectations with lowering standards and they are not connected to me.

As Lamar told Joe Kidd, " Its a crummy choice but it's all you got!" The problem with this organization is they are content with just getting to the playoffs. Without losing there will be no change. Prefer not to make the playoffs in Hope's Garrett gets fired and get a better draft pick to build for the next season.

You phi

You philosopher, you.

Independent of draft position or SB, I always want my Cowboys to do as well possible; even if it a frustrating "one and done"

How often does that happen? That's exception thinking and not the rule, homefield teams dominate going to the Big Dance. You are still taking the same team into the playoffs that you had in the regular season so it's not really a new season.

But the question is either or, the anything can happen isn't applied. It's end at 16 or go one more game and end at 17.

Now, Rocky, I know you're the eternal optimist, and that's a compliment, so I am going to give you a bonus. In the playoff loss, you can have your choice of "it's a catch/it's not a catch" or the PI in NO.
I root for wins regardless of the hypotheticals point blank. In my mind, it’s the only way to be. If you start wishing for losses because you’re afraid to lose in the playoffs, then there’s other issues going.
