Playoffs, none if one and done?

I root for wins regardless of the hypotheticals point blank. In my mind, it’s the only way to be. If you start wishing for losses because you’re afraid to lose in the playoffs, then there’s other issues going.
I don't think they're afraid to lose in the playoffs, just tired of it.

This question comes up every year, and half the fans prefer missing the playoffs and having a better draft position over 1 and done. I’ll never understand that thinking.

As a fan, I live week to week, so I only care about playing well this Sunday. However, if you could tell me right now that we would lose our first playoff game, I’d still choose that extra week and finishing ahead in our devision over not making the playoffs. Every time!

-----So yea give me playoffs because...anything can happen.

With The Clapping Carrot? ***Face plant***

I know the players and coaches are but apparently many fans are. Something I just don’t understand.
We all watch for our own reasons, I watch them to watch them play but I used to watch them to watch them win. Considered it a waste of time if they lost.

----My Astros just lost the WS. Painful.

Try being a Dodgers fan.

Something happens to some fans with a team with repetitive behavior and some are purely results driven for the season, it is all about the destination, the journey is inconsequential. And there is no good or bad to it, it's just how you view the season.

If the Cowboys were to make the playoffs, and right now it looks like winning the division is the only way they would, and they were to lose out in that first round, would you rather they didn't make it at all?

Would the disappointment and frustration of that be to the point you'd rather just have the season end after 16 games?

Those are your only two choices, none of that "anything can happen in the playoffs", the choice is simple. End the season after 16 or end it after 17 games?
Every season is different, but this season is about beating contenders right now, and the Vikings are contenders.

This Cowboys team this season is a very talented team that needs to find their rhythm, and there is no time now for a loss, its time to prove that we can actually play with the best and beat the best.

Talk is cheap when you beat cheap teams, time is now to prove and set a path.

This Cowboys team needs to beat a very good Vikings team in order to even be in contention, in consideration, in discussion.

If they win the division and keep the eagles out of the playoffs, I'll take one and done. It's better than watching a division opponent in a playoff game

Hard to say, the more they lose the closer we hopefully get to Garrett's exit. On the other hand I haven't seen this team win a divisional playoff game in 20+ years. I say its a toss up

You don't have to call it yet, this is purely hypothetical. Want a 16 game season or a 17 game season.

One poster made a post that started this question when he said he takes playoff losses a lot harder than a regular season one because of the finality and would rather not go than go and be one and done. I've seen that mentioned several times and while I do not share that, I do understand it and do not think anyone like that is any less of a fan. I do not think SB or bust fans are lesser fans.

And some posters confuse managing expectations with lowering standards and they are not connected to me.
Couch--- you make good sense...i have tendancy to get over emotional..which will happen on game day...but its nice to be on a even keel at least a couple days a week...hehehe.....my thought on the one and done and maybe rather not even be in the dance is...its not impossible that if we go to playoffs we are NOT one and done...stranger things have happened..like 2011..Giants i think at one point in that super bowl year were 6-6 and then went on a run and did not lose...it happens...but its usually New England that figures it out and i cannot deny they are the GOAT...but i have deep emotional dislike for them..only cause they buck all odds and continue to be champs for 2 decades....but i have seen Dak improve a lot this year as pocket passer throwing seam routes and deep balls....many of us might have thought he would never be that guy...but he is on his way...so a stout O Line...an angry Zeke...a new Dak...and a stingy Defense and who knows???

I don't know how to answer this. I'm fine with either. There is no such thing as "Anything can happen in the playoffs" with regards to the Cowboys. It's sad to say, but the last team they surprised in the playoffs were the Vikings in 1975, so I don't want to hear anything can happen.

I have my expectations going into the playoffs. 2007, '14, and '16 were all disappointments. Every other year I got exactly what I expected so I was ok with that.

Heck i want to win the division and make it to the playoffs. Its a brand new season when playoff time begins. Would I be upset if we were one and done Heck yeah and will probably be yelling for someones head. Im a fan when they play bad and lose I want to yell or blame somebody lol

SB or bust. That used to be the norm.
I've never understood what that even means. If they don't make the SB, does that mean the rest of the season never happened?...or are we supposed to switch teams?...or considering the word "bust", does the team have to disband? I honestly don't get it.

I get "The moon or bust", because you're gonna get to the moon or die trying......but "SB or bust" just seems like an empty, ambiguous threat.
