I have a really bad feeling the Jets game is going to come back to bite us in the ***.

Looking at our schedule and Philthy's schedule, things dont look too promising...

We're sitting at 5-4 and still have to play:
Lions, Pats, Bills, Bears, Rams, Eagles, Commanders
That's 4 teams with a winning record at the moment (Pats, Bills, Rams, Eagles) and the Bears are a game shy of being .500

Philty is also sitting at 5-4 and has the following remaining games:
Pats, Seattle, Dolphins, Giants, Commanders, Cowboys, Giants
That's 3 teams with a winning record (Pats, Seattle, US) and 4 "gimme games"

Realistically, we're not winning out, not with NE looming - and I can almost guarantee Garrett will manage to screw up at least one other game - which will probably be the Philthy game ... so lets assume we go 5-2 down the stretch, that leaves us at 10-6, with a division record of 5-1 and a Conference record of 8-4

Aside from the Pats and Seattle, Philthy has a cake walk down the stretch - so assuming they lose to NE/Seattle - they could effectively win out (including our game) which puts them also at 10-6 with a division record of 5-1 also but with a conference record of 7-5.

Here's where it gets troubling - tie breakers for playoff seeding are H2H, Division, COMMON GAMES, and then Conference Record.

That Common Game tie breaker is where we lose. Philthy beat both the Jets and the Vikings (which we lost to) Their record would be 9-3 vs common opponents while ours will end up at 8-4...
10-6 wont be good enough for a WC spot - too many solid teams in the NFC that should finish with at least 11 or 12 wins (GB, Minnesota, NO, SF, Seattle)

I have this sinking feeling in my gut that we're going to finish 10-6, and miss out on the playoffs because of the freaking New York JETS of all teams... had we won that game it would push the tie breaker to Conference Record and we would win the tie breaker... but because we lost that game, we're going to be sitting home watching the playoffs (once again) and ending up with a low mid round pick (18-20)

Of course there's a lot of games left to play and "any given Sunday" and all that but lets be real - in order for us to make the playoffs we need to win at least 5 out of our last 7 games AND beat the Egirls in Philty. Our only hope of a tie breaker needs to come from Division Record - which makes that Egirls game THAT much more important...

Sorry for the long post, just frustrate and thinking out loud over here... someone send some positive vibes this way please...

Flip it!!! I have more important things to worry about. I need an early check in to the Fairmont hotel in Austin on friday and a limo ride to a great drinking establishment. Not gonna let GaRowdyett ruin my weekend.

Of course, the Eagles are in a similar situation in that they lost to the 2-7 Falcons, so that could cost them. The key may well end up being who wins the 2nd matchup between the Cowboys and Eagles.

The Jets game...the Jets game...stop crying about the Jets game.

The Falcons are 2-7. They beat the Eagles and Saints. The Buccaneers blew out the Rams in LA. Cleveland put up 40 and beat the Ravens in Baltimore.

Funny thing about pro football. It's not Alabama vs Western Carolina. Even the bad teams have pro players.

I’ll be surprised if the Eagles don’t win the division.

We have a tougher remaining schedule and have to play them on the road. The Cowboys have a history of being resilient though, especially last year, so we will see how things play out.

But neither team will go far without a bye, so ultimately it probably doesn’t matter.

Philly didn't beat the Vikings they got blown out and the next week Dallas beat the snot out of them.

Gonna have to make it to the Philly game at worst down 1 game and then obviously win that game. Week 17 is a layup for both teams.

So hopefully Philly loses at least 1 game which allows for 2 Dallas losses before the Week 16 matchup.

Has anyone actually watched the "Lions, Pats, Bills, Bears, Rams, Eagles, Commanders"?

Other than the Pats, they're all bad.

Story of JG tenure. Squeak into the playoffs by pissing away the easy games.

I think Dallas beats the Pats! Bring on Baby Brady Lambie!! He is going to eat turf!!!

Don’t be surprised if we beat New England and then lose to someone we shouldn’t. That’s the way it goes.

Jerry will not fire Jason Garrett if he finishes 10-6 this year. Its going to take 8-8 or worse and no serious injuries he can use as an excuse. The only way Jerry fires Garrett is if the noise around it gets so bad it becomes an embarrassment. So far that has not happened. If the media starts turning on Garrett as the Cowboys lose games, then Jerry will make a business decision to fire Garrett before he hurts the franchise. But I have no doubt Jerry prefers to keep Ensign Pulver as his head coach.

I get that but as far as "common games" we dont play the Falcons or the Saints... We both played the JETS and the PACKERS - we lost both, they won both... thats going to be the deciding factor and considering we could essentially finish 8-4 in common games and phithy has a real shot at 9-3 in common games - the JETS game is the deciding factor - whether you like it or not... had we won that game we both finish 9-3 and the tie breaker moves to conference games where your falcons game would come into play and we would WIN THE TIEBREAKER... The JETS game is the one that hurt us the most...

Of course, beat Philthy and this becomes a moot point but on the road, with the season on the line, those arent the games we usually walk away with a W... just saying
