Yes, looking at the schedule, the playoffs should be very doable.
1. We are close to the second wild card spot.
2. Sweep the struggling Eagles, Skins, and defeat the Browns...8 wins.
3. That leaves Cinncy, Pitts, and NO to try and get 9 or 10 wins.
Playoffs?!!
WHOA there homers. Hope springs eternal, but there is no sign that our offensive woes aren't a season long issue.
1. We have scored 3 TDs three times in 8 games...twice against NY and once vs Baltimore. 1-2
2. We have scored 2 TDs only once...vs Chicago, and the second TD came with 38 seconds left in a 34-18 blowout against prevent...so really 1 TD.
3. 1 TD in 27-7 loss to Seattle; 1 TD in 16-10 win vs TB; 1 TD in 19-14 win vs Carolina; 1 TD in 19-13 loss to Atlanta. We are 2-2 in games when we scored only one TD! We are fortunate to have won 3 games.
15 touchdowns in 8 games, including garbage time and a lot of passing while playing from behind...that's incredibly pathetic.
Can the team make the playoffs? Yes, anything can happen. But we are approaching week 10 of the NFL season, and we have struggled to score points all the way.
Play calling, QB, receivers, OL, penalties, injuries, coaching and clock management? Who cares! Whatever the combination of futility really is, the bottom line is we are lucky to have three wins when we scored only 1 TD in two victories. The Cowboys are not going to win games or even sniff the playoffs unless they start scoring points.
