Exactly, Wayne.

Some people need to take the pine needles out of their eyes and step back enough to see the forest.

The loss isn't as disappointing as them not being able to build any confidence in their offense without TO. They aren't going to suddenly just "have it" because they're in the playoffs...and even with a better gameplan an offensive unit isn't suddenly going to become confident/competent when they haven't established much of any success in gametime situations (and this unit...as it is...hasn't done squat the last two games). The coaches must have felt like that to some degree or they wouldn't have played Glenn in these conditions.

I know TO is tough and it's almost a given that he'll play, but nobody knows how much or how well he'll play in the first game or, even if he toughens it out in that game, how much he'll have left the next week.

Yeah, there were a lot of if's and almost's today, but they're not going to build anything off that. You're right that the key is getting healthy, but, in football, teams better be prepared to play with guys out. Right now, this team doesn't have a friggen clue on offense without TO. That's been proven over the last six quarters, but maybe it just can't be helped?

I think TO's presence alone will open things up for Witten Crayton Glenn et al

You didn't look very hard.

Tampa got beat by Carolina
Seattle got beat by Atlanta

Neither team had a thing to play for today.

So. Very. True. :)

You never watched any of those games in Gibbs first head coaching job with the Skinz did you? Some were epic games. Old Joe deserves being in the Hall of Fame. I do not give the Skinz any credit they don't deserve but what you have said is foolish at the least and BS at the worst.

The "is" part of the bolded statement is what is foolish. Being "overrated" is a matter of subjectivity, and thus a matter of "oughts" and "shoulds". But you cannot derive an ought from an is. Therefore, to say that it "is" foolish is merely construing your opinion as fact.

I hope you're right. I hope they can flip a switch.

If injuries and a vanilla game plan were the reason for today's embarrassment, what was the reason for the Philly game? The mediocre performance last week? Needing a miracle against a pathetic Detroit team?

Looking around the league today, I don't see any other playoff teams that had nothing to play for who were put to shame the way Dallas was. Jacksonville played poorly, but they sat several starters, including their QB.

Division champion Seattle (10-5) lost to Atlanta (3-12)
Division champion Indy (13-2) lost to 3rd place in division Tennesee without VY.
Division champion Pittsburg (10-5) lost to last place Baltimore (4-11)
Division champion Tampa Bay lost to Carolina, giving up 31 to a team with no offense.
Division champion Dallas lost to Washington.
Division champion GB won and had a lot to play for after being embarrassed by the lowly Bears last week (losing 2 of their 3 losses against the Bears) in a game that cost them home field advantage....go figure.

Several teams that had something to play for, the playoffs, lost to teams who were out of the race weeks ago.

I'm not saying we have to like it, but to say Dallas played with our starters isn't fair. Peyton Manning played about the exact amount of time that Romo did, and he played with his receivers and starters, yet still scored only 1 td off of a turnover.

When you aren't really coaching and pulling everything out of the bag to win a meaningless game, and you play it straight up against a divisional foe that knows you so well, you really don't have much of a chance.

That said, I will give you this: I don't if Glenn plays or not, if we go into the first playoff game without TO (and I think that's very possible), I expect our offense to really struggle to score points, and it will be anyone's game.

Playing without your star WR and without your probowl center kills your passing and running game, especially with the below average backup receivers we have. And when you play defense without your starting NT and without your star cover CB, your defense will struggle more than usual.

Our team will struggle against any playoff opponent without TO and NEwman.

I don't expect TO to play in the early playoffs...I'm just hoping he makes it back in time for the SB like he did with Philly, but I think it will be very difficult to get there without him.

Him saying he'll be back means nothing...that's just talk. Wade has already said that he looks "iffy"...the way we pulled Glenn to protect him after one hit also told me that they are seriously afraid that TO won't be back.

I hope he's back at even 80 percent, but I think it's really up in the air...Romo will be practicing without TO for the next two weeks for sure...that's not good.
