We wouldn't have made it even if Washington or Carolina won.

And don't give me the excuse that the guys KNEW that they weren't in.

All of the angst shown in previous threads about the Skins and Panthers games was all for nothing.

Yeah, right.....

You know, I know, and everyone else knows that this team would have come out and blown away the Rams with something to play for. They knew there was nothing on the line and played like it.

There was no effort and no heart today.

The OT and kicking situation cost us a post season birth.

Doesn't matter; we are weighing hypotheticals here and doing so is impossible since the outcome will never be known.

Reality is this: we finished 9-7. Time to go to the drawing board and see what we can do to become 16-0.

PULEEEZE! You can tell by the look on their faces that they are upset with the way that they are playing.

If you honestly think that pro athletes actually play like that, then one would question whether you have played any sports growing up.

What a horrible day. I spent the half the day rooting for the Eagles, and the other half watching Sunday nights game.

I feel very dirty.

It's because I've played sports my whole life that I know what I'm talkign about. I've played in games that meant nothing and games that meant everything. The difference is astronomical.

You are just looking to comfort yourself so you dont have to wander what if...

Right on.

I believe this team would have played differently had we had a chance at the playoffs.

If YOU are the type of player that played the game differently because it meant something then you must have sucked at whatever you played.

There is no way that ANY player worth his salt would EVER play differently.

Some have the drive, some don't....you being one that doesn't.

I'm really upset with the Cowboys play. With a win in this game, we would have ended the season with 2 game winning streak & something to look back on until season begins again next year. Instead, while some other teams who also had nothing to play for went out & played their hearts out, the Cowboys gave us the same poor performance as they have done in several other games. At least the poor OL play shouldn't leave Parcells or Jones with any false misconceptions. Drastic change must happen if we are to seriously upgrade our OL and field an elite team next year.

I don't think the players mentally thought to themselves "hey, we can't make the playoffs so I'm not going to try as hard."

However, football is a game carried by emotions, and I guarantee that the emotions of the players going into the game would have been drastically different had we had a chance to go to the playoffs.

No, I put it in my post because I saw PRIOR TO THE GAME, that this was going to be an excuse.

reality hurts eh. Because in all reality we played like a team that had nothing to play for. It would definately been different had the playoffs been on the line

Then cut EVERY player on this team that played as though they didn't care. Did you see the players faces on the sidelienes? They certainly looked like they cared to me.

I haven't met a SINGLE athlete that was any good that played like they didn't care how they did.
