Please do not try and defend Romo today

I'd just like to see your list of the plethora of QB's that would perform much better than Romo did today with lousy pass protection, 58 rushing yards on 21 carries, and a defense that made the Lions look like the Greatest Show on Turf.

The issue isn't Romo and he certainly didn't lose the game for us. Give me average defensive play, running game, and pass protection and Romo plays a whale of a game. Give me poor defensive play, running game, and pass protection and you'll be lucky to see many QB's that are able to keep you in the game like Romo did. But I guess you're supposed to just hold onto the ball and take a sack, even if it's in the end zone.

Good grief.

And 16 of those were from Romo himself.

Romo was a yard short of a potential game tying TD. I dont know what you are on, but he kept us in it until the end with no running game, a bad offensive line and a defense thats spending the night in the burn unit.

Yards from the QB spot- 337

Yards from everyone else- 42.

Thats not going to win football games.

Come on now, Roethlisberger, Brady and Peyton Manning are notorious for having great games every time even when they get lousy pass protection, running game and a terrible defense. Just hold onto the ball and take the sack, you'll be GREAT!

I'm talking about this year.

The defense was far better under Bledsoe this year.

The running game was far better under Bledsoe this year.

Even if you want to say that the pass protection was equally as bad under Bledsoe as it was Romo, Romo had far less to work with this year than Bledsoe did this season. And last year's defense played far better than this year's defense under Romo. Plus, Romo had 14 drops in the 2nd Giants, Saints, Falcons, and 2nd Eagles game.

So Bledsoe was great this season?

I don't get your point. If Bledsoe played today instead of Romo, we probably lose by 30 points.

YAKUZA

Correct.

I honestly don't believe the amount of Bledsoe man-love on this board. It's like a cockroach you just can't kill it.

Thank God it will end this offseason.

Yeah, but he was holding onto the ball too long...or something like that.

Keep screaming "four fumbles." Keep doing it.

One arguably wasn't a fumble. Another was recovered and Tony made an incredible play. A third was recoverd by the offense (no harm, no foul). At best you can fault him for one fumble that cost the team points.

His one bad fumble cost the team 3 points.

I say 4 fumbles because he fumbled 4 times

1 fumble on Lions 8 think that cost us points?

1 fumble gave Lions the ball on our 13

INT gave them the ball on our 28 yard line

You think maybe that cost some points

Thats 13 points minimum off Romo's mistakes

BDF I quite often agree with you on a variety of topics... AND I agree that Romo was sloppy... Way, way too sloppy.

And he deserves part of the blame but it was a total team collapse.

This team has looked like crap for the last month.

I do expect Romo to improve. I think he'll give us a heck of season next year.

I wish I could be as confident in the defense.

Well this post shows me you agree with me now too, because I am blaming everyone Romo included :)

My whole thing was about people giving him NO blame when he clearly deserves some blame

Neither is 3 turnovers from your QB costing a minimum of a 13 point swing

Everyone was to blame Romo included

The homers want to pay lip service to his mistakes and quickly move on to the passing yards, as if that means anything after a day like today.

Not necessarily, it took two years for the majority of QC luv to die. I'm actually surprised at how fast the Henson love faded.

Fans fall in and out love with players all the time. Just takes awhile to get past the disappointment.

That is the key right there.

I have hope Romo can learn.

This defense was much worse and has repeated the same foolish mistakes for weeks.

Yep.

When you put a guy just starting his first year in the league in a position where he feels he has to take the team on his shoulders in order to win, because the team as a whole is playing bad....than you are already in a losing situation.

With that said, Tony needs to realize that he should not try to put the whole team on his shoulders, when they don't feel like playing with heart to start with.

This defense is just indescribable at this point... Who's to blame?

I guess everyone.

Yakuza, .. never never never ever mention Roethlisbergers name in the same sentence with Brady or Manning again. :laugh2: :laugh2:

Just kidding, but seriously, he is not, has never been, nor will he ever be as good as either Brady or Manning. :D

Every game (as of late) has Romo starting off in the hole... I'm sure that is wearing on him in that he has to score 30-some points in order to even have a chance. If a team has 12 possessions a game then Romo needs to put up points on 1/2 of those-- that's a hellofa burden to put on any QB-- But a first year starter? OUCH!

Read the other thread. The fumbles were a net positive for the team.

Sorry Ogt I do not need to read any thread that is going to attempt to say giving the ball away on the Lions 8, and then again on the Dallas 13 are "positive"

Those 3 turnovers were at the minimum a 13 point swing
