Please give this guy credit!! Rob Ryan has him playing hard!! He took some serious shots and returned back to play some great defense on burress! And even flipped him upside down on a tackle for payback!! I loved his attitude!! He knew the team needed him and he came back at all cost!!! I salute you mike! .. Once tnew and scandrick and jenkins are all healtht Rob is really gonna be able to do what he wants!!

Cant wait! Defense looked great and offense looked great.. We lost a close game to a great gritty team! Jets been there plenty of times before! .. Very good game to be proud of and grow from!! Rob Ryan is awesome! .. Our defense played with plenty of attitude and swagger! Even Ball played well!

...kid did a Great job tonight...but I fear for his health going forward tackling the way he does. You CANNOT tackle with your head down in this league and get away with it. Not at USF anymore Mike...keep your head UP!

I can't place any blame for this loss on the defense. All things considered, the defense played well enough to win.

Would you prefer he make more business decisions?

Mike Jenkins had a great game and showed major heart, and he played the deep ball well. Someone has got to keep him from breaking his neck. He is going to get seriously hurt. I think all this talk of him being "soft" has not benefited him.

I thought Burress took a classic Hines Ward cheap shot. Jenkins owned him tonight.

Hopefully the coaches will address the head tackling thing. He should already know better.

I thought it was a great hit. But I love Hines, too.

I think part of the problem is that with the neck injury is that he didn't get much practice on his tackling in TC/preseason.

I think he can be a gifted cover corner but he is never going to be a physical CB. The goal should be to make him a serviceable tackler who has good form and technique. He'll also need to learn how to protect himself against large TEs and RBs in the openfield as I remember him taking some shots last year, too.

I just hope he stays healthy. Played well today when he was in, though.

Jenkins is solid. All DBs get beat at times, so last year's performance, while not all-pro level, wasn't as shocking as some would make it sound. I thought he showed ALOT of heart, as did Dez (guy could barely run). I am concerned about being thin at CB now....more so than before. I think Jenkins will probably need a few weeks to get back to real form and Scandrick's injury hurt us. That said, I was quite pleased with our DB performance from the bench...better than I expected.

I think the shot from Plax really woke him up and he started being more aggressive after.

That being said, some of the "fans" we have on this board cheering after he was injured was just sickening.

Not that worried about depth right now, Jenkins should be good to go again next week and Newman must be getting pretty close to being ready.
Honestly as much as people love to hate the guy even Ball had a pretty decent game last night

Mike played a gutty game - the 3rd stringers did pretty well too. I do worry about our depth though, Mike cant survive too many games like that (and still needs to work on his tackling technique if he is to survive), there is a better than average chance that Newman will be gimpy when he returns and Scandrick is out for many weeks with a high ankle sprain. Yeah, I'm worried!

Jenkins had a great game. Played tough, physical and in a lot of pain.
