I have been looking for some music to upload into my I-Pod that will keep me going through running/working out. I have been relying on the following groups with a few additional songs thrown in, but I was hoping to step outside of my comfort zone and see what else is out there:

Groups in my I-Pod:
All Grunge Era Music
AudioSlave
Disturbed
GNR
Korn
Metallica
PowerMan 5000
Rage Against the Machine
Saliva
Seether
Slipknot
System of a Down
White Zombie

Just because your music doesn't sound like it would mesh doesn't mean I won't try it. Since I live in South Texas I am pretty in tune with Country Music, I grew up on R&B/Soul and I even have even developed an appreciation for Adult Contemporary due to my wife's tastes. I'm just getting a little bored with the same old stuff and really want to branch out. Any suggestions?????

While I like some of Nu Metal's roots, I can't stand where that type of music ended up, so I can't help you there...but judging by your tastes, you might try bands like Clutch, Dillinger Escape Plan, Refused, Valient Thor, Dragonforce, Suicidal Tendencies, Snapcase, Quicksand, Pantera, Kyuss, Kumite, Hatebreed, Glass and Ashes, Finch, Thrice, Corrosion of Conformity, Comeback Kid, Blood for Blood, Beneath the Falling Skies, Avenged Sevenfold (Waking the Fallen), ASG, AFI, and Municipal Waste...they make early thrash metal like Metallica sound like something that's wound up in a wooden box.

Hope you find something you like in there.

Well I am a metal head and a old rock/blues guy but it seems you have the metal covered enough and you said you wanted to go out of your comfort zone.

How about getting some songs from the Prodigy (either the music for a gilted generation and/or the fat of the land) Electronic music with a good fast tempo.

You could get some ministry ( from the mind is a terrible thing to taste and/or psalm 69) Industrial type metal. (The following songs will get your pulse up...thieves, burning inside, breath, NWO, Just one Fix, Hero, jesus built my hotrod)

I recognize two bands on that list. Doesn't anyone listen to the phonograph anymore?

Wow! Thanks for all of the suggestions. I only got down through Yeags post yesterday before I had to check out and get the kids, but it looks like I'm going to be doing some serious downloading today.

Although Yeags and BB made some excellent suggestions, I ended up going with Brainpaints and Tomsons stuff and they did not dissappoint on my thirty minute Elliptical session last night (The Prodigy/Hatebreed were awesome for my last quarter where I usually start to slack off).

Working on Chinfu through Kid 05's stuff today. I really appreciate everyone's input, if any other songs/artists come up, please post em if you can!
