A friend of mine is trying to say they are a Ptariots and Dallas fan. Please help me explain to them why they can't. Today they wore a Dallas Cowboys and Patriots jersey at the same time.

It's better than being a Cowboys and Commanders fan at the same time.

MAYBE your friend is hedging his or her bets. If the Cowboys don't win, then MAYBE the Patriots will. SOME people HAVE to follow winners.

It's unlikely that anything that you say is going to make a difference.

Well I think it's ok to another team as long as that team is in the AFC.

Sorry: I'm not going to tell anyone that they're enjoying football the wrong way.

You don't tell him anything - just hit him over the heard with a hammer.

Well I would have a hard time criticizing a combo Patriots-Cowboys fan considering I grew up in New England, currently live in The Colony (and hopefully I don't have to explain to anyone in here that "The Colony, Texas" is the actual name of the town in which I live like I have to explain it to the folks back home), and I have season tickets for both teams. :D

If you say that you have two favorite NFL teams, .. you really don't even have one.

Yep.

I never understood how someone can be a serious fan of multiple teams. I can understand being realistic. If you're a die-hard Jaguars fan, you want the Jags to win the Super Bowl, but you know it won't happen, so you might go into the season with a few teams/players you wouldn't mind seeing win.

That's how I am when the playoffs hits and the Cowboys are watching from home at 8-8. I'll have players I'll want to see succeed over others. I'll want the Giants/Commanders/Eagles to all get annihilated. I'll want Brady to not win a 4th. I'll want the Steelers to burn. I might be pulling for young guys like Luck. That doesn't mean I go into the season as a Colts fan. But it means I wouldn't mind seeing the Colts win if the Cowboys are eliminated.

That is an odd concept to me, too.

There are a few times I don't mind seeing successful - Titans, for instance, since I live in Tennessee now and they're an AFC team that doesn't even see Dallas, but I wouldn't call myself a Titans fan. I like Miami because of Ace Ventura. :D

Did I write this?

Word for word I agree.

I'd suggest not telling other people how to organize their fannish experiance.

I don't get how people can care about basketball, hockey, baseball, etc. Like those sports matter!? How can you root for more than one sport??
