It is obvious, even to the most casual observer, that our offense is so plain vanilla that the defensive coordinators of the team that is next in line take the week off because defending against the Pokes is so easy. So, why don't Linehan and Redball change things up? Why don't they, just for fun put in some plays that no one has yet seen? What a concept. Why not put in packages that include personnel that normally do not play together. Why not try a little New England Patriot, two small players (Amendola and Hogan) on at the same time. Try quick crossing patterns where picks are common and Dak can get the ball out of his hand quickly. Why not?
Why do we not throw slant passes to Dez more often? He is un-coverable and with t he ball in his hands he is a beast to bring down. Why don't we run Brice Butler on a deep post pattern, ever???? He is always running a fly pattern from the right side of the formation. Hey, Reball, there is a whole other side of the field.
What has happened to the skinny post? Where is the bubble screen? Why can't we get the ball to Zeke in space? Why can't we put Dez and Noah on the field at the same time. Two big receivers against smallish DBs. Cause a mismatch. Why can't they think more creatively.

We are about to go 2-3 doing it the same way. Time for a change?

Speak amongst yourselves.

It's amazing how we were 3rd in the league in scorinng last year, and how we've scored 58 points the last two games, with an offense that's so easy to defend against.

Once again, we outscored the Patriots last year with this offense.

Good thread. 50% of offense..maybe more is scheme. We're not putting our players in the best positions to succeed. I'd like to see a little bit of Switz/Beas combos as well. That and maybe were missing Leary a little more than anticipated. Remember our running game was pedestrian last year also before Collins went down and Leary took over in game 4. That's when Zeke went on a tear. Hopefully the line gels and we get into a grove offensively. We have to start winning on first down.

It is like the 90's offense. They have basically 4 plays, and it is...you know what we are going to run...so stop us. Well so far they have, the defenses are dictating our play calling.

The 90's team were so very good at it, they wasn't stopped too often. But this is not the 90's and it is not the 90's teams. Especially on Defense. we had a very good defense that would / could win games, but more important, they would not lose games.

Now the offense could get back on track. But the defense has way to go yet. I'll see how it goes the next 2 to 3 games. Hopefully when all are healthy soon. But there will still be growing pains. And I think the secondary has a few against AR this weekend.

It's like people just completely ignore and block these facts out.

Nope, plenty in here said the dame things last year.

The fact that our studs were otherworldly last year doesn't change any these arguments/observations.

You can't really argue against any of these points. You can answer that we're good enough anyway, but you can't argue the points.

It doesn't make them true either.

I can't argue against "defending against the Pokes is so easy?" I think I can. Except for a game here and there against great defenses, teams have failed to defend against the Cowboys, so it can't be that easy (and no, no offense is awesome in every game). It's true that I can't argue against some of the other points, because there's no substance to them. They amount to, "If we ran our offense differently, it would be way better." There's not a shred of evidence to support that proposition, but hey, there's no evidence to refute it either.

I think the argument is preparing against the Boys offense is easy. Being effective against us isn't easy. It requires outstanding personel. I would hope so given we have 2/3 our or cap on that side of the ball.
